Gameboy Micro Famicom Question

WesWarlord

CAGiversary!
Does the faceplate on the Famicom micro come off? The reason I ask is because I like the famicom style more than the silver or black, but if it's screen gets scratched, I would like the option to change it out. Its also the difference of me buying it at Gamecrazy for $49.99 or at K-Mart for $35. Any input or opinion would be helpful.

No the face plate does not come off. It even comes with a slip of paper that cites that specific misprint in the instructions (since they used the original Micro's manual).

At least mine does. The online Nintendo store even sells extra Famicom faceplates: http://store.nintendo.com/

I got an extra one for $4.95 + shipping and it came with a free faceplate ejector tool.

I'll have to check my box for that slip of paper. I don't remember seeing mention of a misprint, but I got my Micro last November, so maybe that slip wasn't included yet.
