Gamecrazy tournaments?

Can anyone tell me what kind of prizes they give out to the winner of the tournaments they hold? I'm thinking about attending one but I wanted to know if the prizes are worth playing for?

There was a Mario Kart Double Dash tourny back when it first came out, in which they gave out a copy of the game. I trained with a friend of mine and we went to different stores. He won one, and I just so barely lost. I think before Halo 2 there was a Halo 1 tourny for it. I think the best the prizes ever get is a free game, most likely one that you already have to be competing in it.
 
My local GameCrazy had a tournament last Saturday. Everybody who was in the tournament had to play the first level of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat and see who could get the fastest time and most bananas. Lucky for me, no one showed up for the tournament except me so I got a cool Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat hat and a "Who Are You?" t-shirt. Some of the prizes are cool. Way back when Mario Kart: Double Dash!! was released, whoever won that tournament won a copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! that included the bonus disc. Next month, I think my GameCrazy is having a Halo 2 tournament, the fee is a dollar, and who ever wins the tournament, wins all the fee money. Last time they had that tournament, 75 people came, so the winner got $75.00, just for playing Halo 2 and paying a dollar. Their tournaments and prizes are really good, you should go to one.
 
someone who knows someone high up at Gamecrazy should make it to where there is a Soul Calibur 2 or 3 tournmant on the midnight of SC3's release.

Then again they didnt do Tekken 5, nor do I think they ever do fighting games in general. They wouldnt want to draw actual competition, just people to have fun.

wai, what? Why would they give you the game u already mastered?
 
we have a used game store that holds tournaments everyweek.. they mostly play halo 2.. which is kinda a drag for me.. i'd rather play SW battlefront or Burnout 3.. ah well.. but yeah.. fun nonetheless the prizes were store credit.. kinda lame.. but cool ...

Mine did a Tekken 5 tournament.. I think the next one is Gran Turismo 4.
 
Mmm I wanted to do the MK: DD one.. back a long time ago and I should have because no one even show up. They have the tournaments listed in my GC.. I think they're having an Unreal Tournament 2 and .. ummm GT4 soon? I don't quite remember.. But the prize now is just a year of free rentals at Hollywood videos.
 
nicest i've saw free game, xbox carrying case, controllers. i've never actually showed up for one though.

Only contest i ever won in a game store was a copy of Halo 2 and a radio station gave that away.
