Nice find! So did you played Valkyrie Profile yet?
Not really. I just tested it to make sure that it worked. I was put off by the fact that it took well over 5 min before you could actually play anything and all the dialogue was voice-acted and not skippable. The guy at GC recommended it to me (I hadn't even heard of it going into the store) saying it goes for a lot, but I figured he meant like $20. So I got home and looked it up on ebay and half.com and was amazed that it goes for $85-$132 (probably closer to $85-90 for me since the discs have light scratches on 'em, as does the case, but I might switch the inserts with the vagrant story case before selling). I feel I should play it all before selling it, but I'm excited to make a killing off it. I doubt it'll go down in value anytime soon though.

lucky to find all this stuff, but if your intensions were to buy and resell, then you sir, is a hoarder. besides that, you make us look bad. if you do play the games, nice find. but to ebay all the stuff you bought? hmm.. makes people wonder

Well my philosophy behind buying the games was that I'd get 2 that I just wanted to play, then one to sell. I wouldn't have even minded just buying the ones I wanted, but since you'd have to buy them in threes that's just sort of how it worked out. I'd always find 2 that I wanted, and have to round it off by finding something worth a lot. I got several other games that aren't on this list simply because I have no intention to sell them (like Kirby's Dreamland 3, and Vagrant Story). Heck, even the guy at GC reccomended Valkyrie Profile to me saying that if I didn't like it, I could sell it for a lot on Ebay. How right he was.

I've also decided not to Ebay this stuff right away. Sorry for the false advertising folks. I fully intended to sell, took pics of the games and everything, but decided that this just isn't the right time to Ebay, as that's what everyone else is doing right now, so these games are a dime a dozen and temporarily worth a little less. Though I'll still sell/trade them here for the prices they are listed as.

wouldnt count on it. with the flow of games coming into the market i would expect the price to drop. I mean look at panzer dragoon saga it reached its peak and fell off in price same with Disgaea , orge battle ect. i doubt it will get over 100 again ... maybe in a year but then you got the new system coming and i just dont see games as colletors items like they once was

It's hard to say really. Just look at the Zelda collector's thing. It was originally about $20 with Nintendo power or the purchase of a GC (how I got mine), and only went for about $30 or so off ebay because so many people had them. now they're real rare and worth $40-50. Either way it won't go down in price that much. Obviously us CAGs are in the know with our EB 25% off coupons, but on ebay Suikoden 2 still goes for a killing. This shouldn't be much different.

isnt the zelda disc crashing in price unless it sealed.

they seem to still grab 30-40 open 60+ sealed so it does seem the price has moved back up a little. wonder how many people are kicking themself about the suikoden 2 game . I still remember seeing the CC ad years ago CLOSEOUT 9.99 sealed and noone even wanted them they had to have at least 100 in a box

just when a game gets above 70 bucks your like do i really want to play this and risk damaging the game. that is why i try to find disc only copies of high price games .. Yea its still very rare and its vaule should hold,

:) talking about insane prices i just bid 100 bucks for those stupid little Disega figures (Lost though since the closing bid was like 140 bucks)

I dunno, selling a game for $85 that everyone knows I got for $5 seems a little dicey. And isn't $20 what Tetris/Dr. Mario was selling for originally at Game Crazy?

True, it's almost insulting those of us who know of the deal. I think your best bet is to throw it on eBay and see what you get. Although if someone bites here, all the better.

Panzer Dragoon Saga is still going for $100+ Sometimes even $200.

And by your logic, Panzer Dragoon Saga shouldn't be so rare as there have been two generations after this game came out, and all the rare PS1 games have one generation after them yet are still rare.

I think they'll actually get more rare with each successive generation as a way of getting back to the "Golden Age" of gaming.

i would buy it but im too chicken to play a 80 buck game i would think i would break it. and for those who say its wrong to sell a 5 buck game for 70. Umm them you can say its wrong for all the people who kept panzer dragoon sealed who only paid 50 to sell it for 300 ????

I say if you find a cheap game and want to sell it for whatever go ahead if people dont like it too bad its your game.
Wow, lot of thread crapping going on here.
That's what happens when collectors run into a reseller, it's a shame some people need to take the maximum advantage from somthing they paid so little for, and had no intention of using at all, ah well, when dealing with money, people show their true side.

By the way, your prices are way off, tetris/Dr.mario combo cart is worth what you paid for it, 3-5$, its not rare at all, but then you are just doing ebay prices I guess.

VALKYRIE PROFILE, however is really rare, It's too bad someone who would appreciate it didn't get it for that price.

Since we live in a market economy, people are allowed to sell for the highest price they can get and buy for the lowest price they can get. That said, buying a $5 game with the expectation of selling it to other people for $85 who were trying to get it for $5 seems dirty. Had he left the game, someone else with the actual desire to keep it may have gotten it sans the $80 transaction fee. Of course, another profiteer could have found it just as easily.

Your Panzer Dragoon analogy isn't perfect. Technically, there is value added to the Pazer Dragoon: time. Holding on to a sealed game for several years is what I would consider an investment. At the time it would have been purchased for $50 it was widely available at that price (unlike Valkyrie Profile). I wouldn't call holding on to Panzer Dragoon wrong; I would consider it having foresight.

Agreed.

Now watch a bunch of noobs start buying up a whole bunch of games in hopes of finding the next Saga. ;)

BTW, we should change the title of this thread as it no longer has anything to do with the original topic. :D

Locked, per the request of the OP, due to excessive threadcrapping.

People, if you don't like the prices, don't ruin it for others. Take the crapping elsewhere.
