GameRush cancelling Splinter Cell: CT preorders?

I live in the Los Angeles area (ok West Covina) and I received a call tonight from the blockbuster where I reserved my copy of SC: CT telling me that blockbusters will not be carrying the game and that they are cancelling their preorders. I asked if this is just for this particular store and the guy told me, "no, this is for all blockbuster stores. It turns out we will not be carrying the game and we are cancelling all our preorders". I reserved the regular edition, not the special edition. I said that I would give them a call next week after they sort this thing out because it just didn't make any sense.

Can anyone confirm this or has anyone had a call like this yet? It sounded pretty suspicious to me and it seems like they are trying to get out of their double-dipping trouble, which is how I managed to reserve my copy.
 
While it sounds fishy, since it involves Blockbuster I'm not surprised. It could be that they couldn't strong-arm their distributor into giving them the price they wanted on the game. That's happened on the movie side of their business (I think BB did not carry Magnolia when it was first released due to a similar incident).
 
I had games cancelled on me by BB before. I don't think it's because they are trying to get out of anything, because if it is true, they'd have to refund you the full $50. What PsyClerk said is more of a possibility.
 
they are not cancelling it anymore...i work at GR and we are just not getting the collectors edition. but we are getting the game. i would suggest and go back and get it since it would only be 29.99 with 2 trades
