What makes you think that? They have a working relationship with Nintendo, as they published the GBA FFIV Advance (and soon, FFV Advance), rather than SE; moreover, it's not as if Nintendo's systems are hurting for SE support (GC notwithstanding).

Sam and Max: Freelance Police
ScummVM + All old Lucasarts games (fuck you Lucasarts)
Maniac Mansion NES (definitive version of that game)
Goldeneye 64
Goldeneye 64 + Online Capability (fuck you MS/Rare)
Blast Corps (see above)
Mother 3 and 1
Legacy of the Wizard (I just wanna see if it is as annoying as I remember it)
Gumshoe ('cuz no one cares)
Sweet Home (considered to be Resident Evil's predecessor on the NES)

There's more out there.

SE was listed in the list of game companies involved in the VC. I'm sure once the GBA rehashes of the FF games are milked, you'll see soe of those creeping up on the VC. And since they've done NOTHING with Chono Trigger save for that horrific PS1 port, I wouldn't be surprised to see that.

That being said, my no-show is a Square title.

The Adventures of 3D World Runner for NES

Herzog Zwei with online co-op and versus, Toejam and Earl with online co-op, and Cyberball with online versus.

I think those three have a shot at making it to VC, but I doubt online support will be there.
Hmm... I hope there aren't too many people expecting GBA games (Mother 3) to hit the Virtual Console.
QUIET NONBELIEVER

Spider-Man and the X-men: Arcade's Revenge

I want to torture people with this game. Easily my most miserable experience ever as a gamer. The difficulty of this game will enrich your vocabulary in ways you can't imagine: you'll easily surpass the rank of Sailor after one 30 minute session. It's so fucking hard. fuckity fuck fucking hard.

I would imagine that about 90% of the games I had planned on buying for the VC will not be released anytime in the next year or two. I'm amazed that people think something like SMRPG or FF6 will be available right away (within the first three or four months). The Marios we'll get, and if you happen to like the DKC games, well, I'd imagine they'll throw those out there, too.

And I'll believe the "ten new releases per month" when I see it.

My bad, I answered this quickly before school and just saw "Games you really want for Wii VC"

God that game was hard as hell. I think the only level I could ever beat was Wolverine's.

Pop n' Twinbee Rainbow Bell Adventures: SNES
Theme Park: Snes
Tiny Toons: Buster Busts Loose SNES
Micro Machines Turbo Tournament 96: Genesis
Mischief Makers: N64
South Park Chef's Luv Shack: N64
Ghostbusters: NES

Mischief Makers n64
Super Mario RPG - For some reason I don't think they're gonna release this on the VC....just a hunch.
Diddy Kong Racing
Banjo Kazooie/Tooie with fixed StopNSwop - I'd like to see it work just for the hell of it.

One of the three games I got with my SNES that Christmas...and yes, I found it impossible.

I don't think I ever even came close to beating the first stage of Cyclops' level, or Gambit's. Hated it.

Never did finish it... was borrowing it from a friend... but I managed to play it for a long while using the infinite 1up technique on gambit's level. :bouncy:

Gotta agree though... that game was bloody hard!

WWF No Mercy--With the WWF switching to WWE and the developers switching from AKI to Yukes, it will NEVER happen, but oh, man, would I love for this game to be on the VC.

I think every one really wants to play goldeneye. If they get the rights for it, I think a lot of people will buy it.
Have any of you played Goldeneye recently? It hasn't aged well.
My thoughts exactly. I keep seeing this brought up and have to wonder why. It was a medicore single player game and an even more medicore multiplayer game (nostaligc because at the time it certainly was the best frag fest a console had, but PC players of Doom, Quake, etc. knew it was just awful). That's not to say I didn't have fun with it, it was a good game for its time. It was all the craze in our dorm. I remember very well the weekend that I stopped caring about the game during the middle of a multiplayer session. I haven't touched it since.

I've also never understood the love of Perfect Dark. It was Goldeneye with a much poorer frame rate (that is, unplayable even with the memory expansion), and yet you always see it pop up in threads like this.

This generation gave us some passable console FPSes. Hopefully the Wii will actually give us a way to play them on the TV that is comparable to a keyboard and mouse.

I'd really like to see Terranigma, the third and final entry in the loosely-related trilogy that also included Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia. It was never released in America, and I believe I read that the Virtual Console releases will be region-encoded, so I doubt we'll see it here, though Europe and Japan might get it.

I'd also like to see some old arcade games, like the six-player X-men game and the Simpsons arcade game, though those probably won't make it onto the Virtual Console.

Demon's Crest (SNES - Capcom)
Great call!! I loved that game.

Another great game would be:

Battle of Olympus
People ...

someday.. :whistle2:( sobs.. even on the ds would be nice
That's all I want also, it would be cool if they translated policenauts also! Snatcher on the DS:drool::drool:

I would also like to see the Golgo 13 nes games, tecmo bowl with modern day rosters and online play, online season play.

I agree with the comment that PD was a much sloppier Goldeneye. I got PD right at the end of N64 Game production, and was very dissapointed after playing Goldeneye for years.

That being said, I love the movie (Goldeneye), and found the game to be exceptionally fun, with definately some nostalgia factor, but it's something I would buy for $10.

Shadow of the Ninja {KAGE in Japan} (NES) by Natsume. Loved that game as a kid.

Lotta others, but that one first comes to mind.

Mystical Ninja starring Goemon (N64)

I remember thinking this game was the coolest game ever when I was younger.

Snowboard Kids (N64)

Got some fond memories of this. Let's just say I had a little "accident" while playing this one.

I just realized SE could do a crazy third installment of the Actraiser series... Imagine that games series with the Squaresoft flair.

Anyway, I'd like to see:

Buster Busts Loose
Mickey Mania
Secret of Evermore
Earthbound
Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball
Tetris Attack

I beat that game on the genesis when I was 10 :speaktothehand:

I want the old WWF/WCW Aki wrestling games, un-edited. I don't care about graphics, but those were the best wrestling games EVER MADE!

I feel/felt the same way. After playing Goldeneye for so long, PD was a letdown.

Another Rare propterty I would love to see, but probably won't:

RC ProAm

Golgo 13 (NES)
Rescue: The Embassy Mission (NES)
Mike Tyson's Punch Out (NES)
Loom (TG-16)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (Atari 2600)
Saturday Night Slam Masters (SNES)

Over two pages and no one mentions Tecmo Super Bowl (NES)?

For some reason, I just don't think we're going to get this one.

Also...

Little Nemo: The Dream Master (NES)
TV Sports Football (TG-16)
Beachhead (C64)

Tecmo has no issues with Nintendo do they? I see no reason why TSB won't show up unless it has NFL licensing issues with EA.

I second for Sin and Punishment since I never got to play it.

Also are any of the VC games being upgraded or are they all straight ports?

I did mention tecmo bowl, in my post on the second page. I actually liked the tecmo games from the snes/genesis era better..
