Gamestop 14 day return?

Von Toxic

CAG Veteran
I bought Black Ops at noon on release day. I opened it played a bit and I dont like the game. Can I bring it to Gamestop within 14 days for a full refund at least in store credit? I know they had a policy like this but I do not know if its still active.

Thank you.

No... I think Canada had some guarantee of sorts, but nothing in the US that I'm aware of. If you're cool with a manager, he might let you return it, but other than that, you are SOL.

Wow. Thanks. I was wondering because my brother used to do this and its been so long since he has done it he doesn't know. I'm going to call mt GS tomorrow to confirm though. If anything i'll try to talk them into taking Black Ops back and letting me get some old stock that might not be selling. I just want to get Blazblue:CS and Tekken 6.

dude do you really think they will give you full price back when they can only sell it as used and lose $4-8 THINK!

they cant reseal the game

I love it whenever anyone tells you to "THINK!" while they're making the 8th dumbest statement of all time.

But to answer your question, no, they do not take returns on new games, only used ones. It's here in their return policy and also on the back of your receipt.

:applause:
Just wanted to give you that for actually being nice and helpful. Good to see every now and then.

 You've obviously never been sold a 'newsed' game from Gamestop. They offered to reseal a game for me that I said I was 'giving as a gift' a couple years ago. Sick part is I had just had a sealed copy of the same game that I traded into them about 2 months prior.:bomb:

So yes, they DO have a resealing machine in the back and they DO use it on some games. I've seen people ask for a sealed copy of a game before and after they keep stressing that the employee goes into the back and comes out with the still warm/hot resealed copy.

Yeah I totally speeded through the game and squeezed the achievements. Go look up my gamercard, "Von Toxic". It would be cool if you didn't assume.

Everyone else, thank you for the help.

OP I'm not sure if you can return it,but if you can't you can trade it in into Amazon for $40 sure it's not getting all your money back, but at least you get some back.
EB used to let you do this years ago before the merger. It was glorious. I was never stuck with a shitty game.
Ahhh yes. The days of EB Games. I miss that chain.:whistle2:# They were the ones that let me dump back the lovely game known as State Of Emergency after it was nothing like I expected it to be.
