I know a lot of people here on CAG whine and bitch about Gamestop banning you from purchasing stuff online if they think you're a reseller and stuff like that, but I'm not sure if any of you have been in my shoes before or not (if you have, I'm hoping you could maybe give me some information here).
Now, to start off, I AM getting the run-of-the-mill "Sorry! Based on the billing information you have provided blah blah blah, etc." message that comes from being banned from making online purchases. The only thing I don't understand though, is that I HAVEN'T put in any billing information. No joke! I'm not even signed into an account when I try to confirm my order and I'm not even making it to the Billing Address input page before I get this message.
I'm not stupid or anything. I sort of understand how this works. Gamestop hires some third-party company or whatever to monitor activity on the website and if anything suspicious happens, they flag your account, credit card, and some other information. Makes some sense. They don't want people exploiting prices and coupons and stuff. I get it. But I'm not even trying to purchase stuff with a credit card (I'm planning on buying everything with a gift card I received in-store today). Not only that, but I'm not even using a damn account!
So wtf is going on here? Has my IP ADDRESS been blocked from the site? I heard people say that you can still buy stuff if you make a new account or whatever, and I've done that as well. But like always, I can't even make it past the "Continue to Checkout" button that you have to click to confirm your order. So am I completely screwed here? Do I have to use a different computer, ship everything to a new address, and "accidentally" misspell my name? Or should I just accept the fact that I'll never be able to take part in any of the online-only deals?
