Gamestop question about cancelling preorders

So I already paid in full for Fight Night Round 2 (wanted that demo), but I'm looking to cancel after finding a cheaper price elsewhere. I have the receipt, but will they refund my money or issue store credit? Also, does it matter if i wait until I have the game in my hand?

This brings me to a moral question: If I have to get store credit, should I just keep the game and avoid saving 10 dollars? Having to dish out an additional 40 dollars is a pain in the ass.

If you paid with a credit card itll go back to your credit card... or you get store credit. Shitty eh?

got to love Gamestop. went in over the weekend and dude goes

Want to preorder the psp

I go when will i get it

March 22 or whenever the first shipment ships

so i put down some cash to preorder it and look at the recept and it says 3rd shipment DOH!!!!!

I will just cancell sometime in the middle of march and put the credit on one of those stupid paper recepts

Also, from what I have been told from a few GS employees, you also have to cancel the order before the day before the game comes out. Otherwise, the money is dumped into that game preorder. I know what you're going through, cause I've preordered a few times just for the extra items and then cancel the order for the game.

I had a PO on Xenosaga II but found it on Outpost.com for 38 (Which I got for 30 Shipped :D) I didnt have time to go to GS until the game was actually out. They still gave me my credit back. All they have to do is take the post-it of 'your' game and put it on the shelf.
just get it there, u already paid for it.
I'd rather save the 10 extra dollars. Seeing you are a fairly new CAGer, you may not grasp this concept yet.

I'll be sure to head in there tomorrow.

I've canceled POs WEEKS after the game came out, never had a problem. Maybe your GS employees just have large pointy objects shoved up their respective asses.

if it's the exact same thing (fight night R2) for $10 bucks cheaper, why not go in, pick it up, and ask for a price match? you just have to prove it's selling for that price and it's the same thing, then i suppose even if you got the $10 in store credit back, you'd still be getting the game for the cheaper price.

When I went to preoreder my PSP and they said I was second shipment, I asked them if I found it somewhere earlier if I would could get my money back and they said I would either get cash or Store credit, my choice.

Shh...don't say this out loud but Gamestop is actively doin pricematches now. Just make sure you have a copy of the ad with you.

And yes, this is true. Any manager who tells you else wise is lying, and you can actively go higher up to get him in trouble.

I found out about the PM policy when I went to GS about two weeks ago. But the employee told me that they only PM stores that were located in the mall that the GS is located. The stores in the mall are KB Toys, Sears, and EBGames.

Want to know the funniest part of the conversation I had with the employee is when I asked why don't they PM BB or CC? He stated that they couldn't beat the prices that CC and BB offer.

That doesn't suprise me at all.

Ask your manager, it was in one of the in-store emails. And yes, they DO match from Circuit City and Best Buy, or they are supposed to at least. This isn't a readily ADVERTISED price matching thing, so some managers take it however they want.

Probably. They always complain whenever I trade games in there like it's out of their way to do this, but it's their job to do that stuff.
