i know people buy used games all the time and then return them for a full refund, but how exactly do they do it? if i bought a disc with just dlc on it and then returned it, what would i tell them? its broken or i dont like it or what?

Tell them "I'd like to return this." As long as your within the 7 day window, you're not breaking any of their rules and don't actually have to explain yourself.

If you're feeling really guilty for some or another reason, make up whatever you want. Tell them you thought your ex-boyfriend stole your copy, but you just found it at the bottom of your weed box. They'll probably quit talking after that.
