Gaming Mouse

In the past five years, all I've used is a Deathadder and a G5. Unfortunately, Logitech no longer makes the G5. The Deathadd though is a fantastic mouse. It's got your pretty standard five button layout that's rpetty common these days (left/right click, middle mouse, and mouse 4 and 5). Aside from that retarded Razer mouse already posted, not sure of any others that offer more than the five button layout.
Thanks, Ill probably go with that Madcatz one.
Make sure you can buy it from someplace you can return it. I read tons of great reviews on it and such but I hated the thing. It just didnt fit in my hand well or felt that comfortable. It felt to wide and flat, even after messing with the adjustments I could never get it right. I couldnt get any support for my hand, I just couldnt ever forget my hand was on a mouse when I was gaming.

Logitech g5 is still my favorite mouse ever. Its discontinued though so I had to pony up 50 bucks for one off ebay but it fits my hand perfect and 2 thumb buttons are in perfect place.

Logitech G500 or G700.

Microsoft Sidewinder or X8.

Razer Deathadder or Naga.

The X8 is a great choice for its price (amazon has it for under $60 shipped) and it is wireless if latency is not an issue for you.

When choosing a "gaming" mouse, NEVER go wireless.

NEVER?

If the gamer is into point and click adventure games or other genres that are not too frantic (puzzles, TBS...) then wireless/wired won't matter.

If that's the case, there is no need for a "gaming" mouse.
Which is why listed the two mice from each brand, wired and wireless. Not everyone needs exact gaming precision.
Then why spend the premium cash on a gaming mouse?

Some people do that. They just spend to spend. Maybe they want bragging rights?

Beats me.

Extra buttons?

Anyway... to the OP, I'd suggest maybe Logitech's new mouse, the G400, or even the G500. I have the G500 and it's a good mouse. I have a hard time suggesting Razer mice (even though I own a Naga Epic) because they don't have the best build quality in my experience.

Yeah, I personally can't stand wired mice and I don't need exact gaming precision (yeah I know, I'm the minority) so I own a G7 and G700. They're both great.
