Get an Athlon 64 system for gaming but make sure you keep it 939 just in case you plan on upgrading.

Sounds like you want to do some gaming on a PC, but want to buy off-the-shelf??
Honestly, you're kinda going to get raped by doing what you could build yourself.

Option 1:
Buy a Falcon system and pay through the nose.....but at least you'll get support, and a guaranteed smokin system.

Option 2:
Build it yourself and save a ton of cash....this is the only real way to go, but if you're not technically inclined...or dont want the hassle..well...then you can do option 3.

Option 3:
Just go over to www.firingsquad.com or some other web site, and click on their DAILY DEALS.....there is almost always a DELL system on sale with hundreds off, free upgrades, or free shipping. Get the fastest processor you can afford with a PCI-Express motherboard from Dell, then slap in a 120 gig hard drive and a half a gig of ram (you can go with 1 gig if you want, but truly half a gig is plenty for gaming..the benefits of having a full gig of ram in gaming are almost not worth mentioning)....and get a Geforce 6800 GT or Higher..or ATI X800 XL or higher videocard, to keep you in games with all the eye-candy turned on for the next several yeras.

Definitely build yourself. You'll either save a lot more money or get a way better rig for the money.

If you're completely new to building a computer, do some research and it should be really simple.

yea of course i know about building it myself but the problem is....................................................................................I don't know how.

I have the same problem, I want a custom PC but I dont wanna built it my self, and I have heard bad things about ibuypower and dell.com sometimes has awesome savings on custom... my budget is 1500-1800...

They are guides out there to teach you how to build a PC yourself. You can check them out before making your decision.

I'll stick with Dell if I'm going to buy. My 4 years old Dell is still running well.

It's really not that hard. I built my first computer last summer, and a month before I started I had no idea how to build a computer. I just looked at a few websites and had very little trouble at all.
Plus, its good to know how a PC works, because if it has a problem you may be able to fix it yourself.

I just built my first PC last October and it was not that hard. I didn't know how either and my friend came over and helped me, but I also did some research first. If you build the computer yourself you will have so much more appriciation for it. Also you will know every piece of hardware that goes into it was good quality. I also take more care of my built PC because it means more to me than my old dell that I bought a year ago. Also if you have any questions I am sure lots of people on here will help you with it.
