GB/ES Twilight Princess "Launch Premiere" (Midnight Wii Release Confirmed?)

hegemonyhog

CAGiversary!
In the latest issue of Game Informer, they're promoting a LoZ:TP "premiere party"...Wii version only, midnight on the 19th.

Well, if they're releasing the major launch title for the Wii at midnight on the 19th, one assumes they're doing a midnight launch of the system and other launch games. If so, this A.) screws over my Saturday night and B.) I'll gladly let that happen.

Would be cool if it is chain wide. I'd love to pick mine up at midnight rather than Sunday morning.

This thread should probably be in the Wii forum though.

My local EBGames said that there will probably be a midnight launch, the tone in the manager's voice leaning heavily toward "yes".

Of course some places will have midnight launches.... A lot of the smaller areas won't. It's like this with every game console launch in recent years.

That's why I went out to Easton - less chance of my Wii getting burned in the revelry.

I was told upon preorder, that my store was planning a midnight launch, and they'd have a bunch of accessories in by then for the preordered folks to choose from.
A midnight Wiilease would be fun.

Almost as fun as replacing Re with Wii in every single Wii conversation ever.
Dude, did you get your Wiiorder?

At least you'll have the Wii after Michigan wins....:hot:

GO BLUE :p

Grrrrr...

That is going to be some weekend. Gears of War, watching the news coverage of the PS3 launch, The Game (which could be #1 vs. #2 again this season for THE Ohio State University), and getting the Wii at midnight. My GS (so far) was only allotted eight units for launch, so I'm not sure if it makes sense for them to reopen at midnight, but if they have to do it anyway just for Zelda...

My head just might explode before it's all said and done. Honestly, if it guaranteed a Buckeye win, I'd sacrifice my Wii until January. Priorities, people.

We did a midnight launch for the 360 so I would assume that we would do a midnight launch for the PS3 and Wii as well, pre-orders only of course.
Nah, you're not the only one. Let the flames begin when I say that I don't like any (yes, any) of the 3-D Zelda games
Nothing wrong with that. Didn't care for them much until Windwaker but still prefer the 2-D myself, which kinda makes OOT one of my least favorite in the series :( Good thing I thought Adventures sucked, or it would really be my least favorite, and I would assuredly never be able to live it down with the OOT crowd.

Good part is the gameplay gets a little smoother with each 3-D incarnation, so if it's the precision of the 2-D ones that does it for you, the 3-D ones will get there sooner or later.

The only reason I didnt preorder Zelda is because I will be too busy with finals around then. Only pick up and play games for me until the end of the quarter.
My Gamestop is in a mall. So no midnight launch party for me :(
my eb is in a mall and they had midnight launches for halo 2, madden 06, madden 07 and the xbox 360.......so dont be too sure

midnight releases in malls arent that difficult. i worked at Gamestop in a mall and we did them alot. Since most of the time the store closes at 9 or 10, then about 15m to 1h to clean, the manager doesnt have to stay that long extra. And since there is always mall security there, all that has to be done is line people up outside, and have security escort a few people at a time into the mall to make their purchase.

This is the night of the Iron Bowl (Auburn vs. Alabama). And the game's in Tuscaloosa.

I hope we get a midnight launch. My manager said he wanted one and saw the possibility of one and with this news, I'm pretty optomistic about one.

That's right, it is.....I forgot about that....

Man, I hope the two games aren't on at the same time. I hate trying to flip between two games.

I am a geek, self-professed, but I won't go to a midnight anything for the Wii. I will be buying one ASAP, but at midnight I want to be in bed. Besides, I doubt Nintendo is going to have any issues with console availability. Should be able to walk in and grab one unmolested.

My store actually took pre-orders for accessories yesterday, but they did not have a SKU for component cables! :(

A midnight release would make me very very happy. I'd pull an all-night Zelda session. ^_^

But, if there's no midnight release, I'll live. My Zelda marathon will still be the same length; it will just start 10 hours later.

i'll add my name to the list of people who pre-ordered zelda but couldn't make it in time to get a wii pre-ordered. yaaaaaay 8 am classes.

Same at mine.

You could reserve Wiimotes, Nunchucks, Classic Controllers and the rip off sandisk SD cards.

I paid off an extra Wiimote and Nunchuck.

Nintendo has sometimes said that they'll include a composite/component cable like that in the premium 360 with every system, and other times that it'll just be composite. Let's hope it's the former.
im on that boat with you! preordered the Zelda today acctually!
I preordered Zelda only because i was trading in games and the guy said i'd get 20% more if i preordered it. Considering 20% was $15 more, and i only had to put down $5 on Zelda , it was a no brainer. I'll prob wind up moving preorder over to Guitar Hero 2 :)

I ordered a Wii, but no games or accessories. From what I've experienced from past launches, there is almost always an abundance of games and accessories, while there is a shortage of systems.

A midnight Wii launch would kick ass, especially in France.

Wii? Oui.
