I went 2-2 at the tourney, which was nice because the week before I went 0-2. Ended up being tied for 13th in a showing of 30 players.

It my third straight Ryu at the Tourney. Ram's Ryu had gotten so much better than the last time I saw him play. He was already being dubbed, "The Boxer Killer"

I do need to find that middle ground with Seth. Playing risky and aggressive is great, but not when the trades aren't in your favor. With my match with Ram, I played it way too safe (as you can see me not follow up with mixups for fear of being Shoryu'ed). Whatever, I'm happier with how I played this time around but I need to work harder to get my Seth to where I can do what I like to do with Seth (run downhill, pressure, mixups, zoning, weird setups) but be a little smarter about it. A lot of my bad decisions today were really bad.

Hey Beef, you should hit up Pac North and find fools in your area that play. I know UCD Muga plays a bunch if you can get out there, 707 Fairfield/Vacaville has a strong showing and I think Pak Lyfe plays out in Sacto, lots of gatherings in that area.

I love how in my random babblings on the stream, Beef, Markman and ReRo were the first names that came to mind.

I stopped doing that all the time lol. All you would have to do is react to that and do (ex) pile drive thingy, grab, or whatever. We need to play more too, it's been a while!

I agree. I've been working two jobs from around August 2009-Now, but that should change at the end of this month. Hopefully then my time will open up, but hit me up whenever for games. I do have 1 or 2 days off a week haha

Throwing out FA on Wall Dive reaction is good to have though. EX SPD or SPD works I think if you land short with Seth (some players use it for mind games) not if you are throwing out a straight out Wall Dive HK in hopes of a deep Cross-Up.

Beef we need to play sometime as well. The fuck did you have to move away from San Francisco?

Also HeavyD, you probably got my message but my g/f and I are planning to be in Seattle by mid February. I'll hit you up with dates when it's all finalized, still have to get the Condo and the plane tickets. After telling her what happened at the last get together you had (my buddy wanting to LEAVE) she was ok with a day or so at Gameworks leveling up my Abel or Seth on Console.

Because they're all too busy trying to figure out what characters we use in SFIV so they can badly play Ryu against us.
 
I played SSF2T till 6 in the morning last night after drinking a bottle of Glenlevent Scotch (with friends of course). That buzz made me unbeatable, I couldn't stop playing. It's like I turned Super Saiyan or something.

Im sure they'll fix it. From what I've heard when seth gave that comment about rose being top easily, it was because in that build of the game her ultra II orbs didnt go away ever. This would be hella broken, so they probably nerfed it really hard to make it presentable to the public in the most recent build shown.

I expect that after that build they have/are spending time figuring out how to find a middle ground between fucking broken and utterly useless with that ultra, because it can go either way without too much trouble I think.

I've been working every day for 3 months now.. and I'm proud to say I quit my weekend job today. I feel.. free.. even though I'm still going to work there until the 31st. Finally, time to play some games. :cool:

I just bought a whole bunch of old fighting games to play on the PS3 too.
 
fuck Tager, fuck him in all his new found glory.So many options for him now it hurts. 1 combo killed v-11 ( nothing new ), though now he can lock down and kill Hakumen with ease. I am ready to main Tao and infinte taunt people in CS. I swear Bang ( Yes Bang ) and Tager are the new power houses. Arakune is still a dirty whore unless you counter pick.

i was referring to character usage, i bump into those two more often than not.

ken in sf4 isn't bad, just that ryu and akuma are that much better, i think.

also, ken in 3s is pretty up there, and i main him in ST/Remix because i like his throw options.

Vance is ridiculous. He was the Zangief player that won the tournament. Dude plays on pad! We were talking after and he mentioned that too...."You started to throw out too many fierces"

I need more Ryu practice, I hate that matchup with Seth. Mostly because I always have it in my head that I can't jump in on a good Ryu.

Yea between Mike and Magus, they were rough on me on stream. Have to say they were right though, gotta take everything I did wrong with all four of my matches and fix it for the next tourney. They weren't nearly as hard on me as they were on one of my friends who came and was on the stream (the Chun Player)

This is only my 3rd tourney running Seth and I still need to find a good medium. I have trouble playing safe with him as I like to go nuts with resets, mixups, etc, but playing turtle/safe actually scored me two wins in that tourney. Weiiiiiiird
