Anyone know if these are still avalible in stores? I just finished getting all of the Transformers seasons from the gamestop B2G1F deal, but I have never seen a GI Joe set at a gamestop.

If I run around to a few stores like Borders and Best Buy is there any chance they will have them or am I just wasting my time?

have gi joe season 1 volume1, season 1 volume 2 and season 2 volume 1 as well as miniseries... there was no season 2 volume 2 as Rhino lost the contract to make it.. quote me a fair price and you can have them...

Maybe Borders since they are less traveled for dvd purchases and the sections aren't always the most organized. Other than that you are going to have trouble since the season sets are out of print.

These DVDs are long out of print, and fetch over $65 on Ebay.

I got all of mine (the 3 season sets and the mini series) at various gamestops, so you may get lucky.

oh shit...they are out of print? I have only season 1 part 1?? what else am I missing?

I know rhino just lost the rights to beast wars and I only have season 3, so Ineed to get s1 and 2 quick.

Here's my post from a thread on the Transformer's DVD's, which also covers the G.I. Joes DVDs, unfortunately...

[quote name='BlueWingX']Well, the reason you can't find them at retailers is that Rhino lost the license. It was picked up by Sony, I believe, and we're just waiting for them to rerelease them. Here's the official story on it.

Sony has no plans to reintroduce the discs last time I read........your best bet now is to drop by Blockbuster or Netflix and buy a stack of DVDR's :p

Crapity, crap, crap, crap. I gotta go hunt down the seasons I don't have now. I know I've seen some recently in local stores, so I guess it's time for me to finally buy everything that was released.

Does it matter? Rhino is never going to release Season 2, Part 2. Sony has the rights now and they're just sitting on them.

I bought all the GI Joe sets about 6 months ago at Borders. I had 30% off coupons which got them down to reasonable prices. If they have them yet, expect to pay $$$.

yeah why would you want to get the oop dvds ? They didn't even finish produce all the episodes. I'd hold off the the new versions that are sure to be put out one of these days.

^^ That's all speculation right now as to whether or not they'll be re-released. In the meantime, you can at least enjoy half of G.I.Joe.

Season two is *debateably* the BEST season of G.I. Joe. The animation, with the exception of a few outsourced eps was totally Sunbow at their height. Similar comic bookish look (same animators I believe) as Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, the Incred Hulk and Dungeons and Dragons.

I think I'm gonna have to hunt these down to own. I netflixed them a long while back. Good quality episodes and a pretty sweet techno style theme song remix in the beginning. No complaints.

If you love(d) the show take a second and fill this bad larry out::D

Contact Sony about the GI Joe DVD!

The rights for the GI Joe series (along with other Sunbow series like Transformers and Jem) have been purchased by Sony Music (who's children's division is called Sony Wonder). This leaves the final Season 2 Part 2 DVD up in the air. So far, Sony has not announced any plans to release Season 2 Part 2. So we encourage GI Joe fans to write to them to make sure they at least release S2 Part 2.
You can send Sony feedback using the following form: http://www.sonymusic.com/about/feedback.cgi (Under the Subject pulldown, you can use Sony Wonder)
