im enjoying my collection having trouble remebering some of the secrets in gow1 but thats what gamefaqs is for. its amazing how the games progressed since the beginning of the series kratos looks awesome in the gow3 demo cant wat till it comes out next year.

Its amazing how well these games hold up. I am having great fun playing the first game. With the 10 bucks off deal at best buy 15 bucks for both these games is steal. Only wish it had CoO on it.

Yeah, these versions look super clean. Hopefully this sells well enough to warrant more PS2 HD collections like

- Ico/SOTC
- FFX/X-2 (or XII)
- DMC 1, 3

I'm a couple of hours away from finishing GOW2. I've upgraded all of my weapons to max, gotten all the Uber Chests, and have Max Health/Magic. Hopefully I can get the 13 Cyclops Eyes I need before this one playthrough is done (although I know I can get more in Challenge of the Titans).

There is a glitched Trophy in GOW2. That being Boss Batch 3. Make sure you make an extra game save BEFORE the first boss in that set because you might have to face them all in a single sitting. However, it is obtainable but no one is exactly sure how.

anybody else ben having issues with grabbing enemies? it happens to me when that big O appears over their head i have to move around a bit before i can finally grab then and do the finisher( mostly on big enemies) im on GOW1 right now.

Playing through GOW I again -- the graphics look fantastic. I was expecting a bit of a bump but was surprised at how crisp it looks. If you liked these games and haven't played them in a while this is absolutely worth the purchase.

That is good to hear. It has been quite a long time since I beat the first and I never did finish the second one, so despite owning them on PS2, I think I will pick this up.

GOW2 looks SOOOOOO much better than GOW it's not even funny.

I finished GOW2 by the way. So that means I'm done with the Collection minus the 5-hour speed run and Challenge of Gods trophies in GOW and 20 eyes, Challenge of the Titan trophies in GOW2. Getting those would result in 2 Platinum trophies.

Nice man, you going back for them?

I doubt I will worry about the trophies here, they probably will be beyond my patience level. I just want to try to get through them before III hits. :D

It's fun and all, but I truly don't notice it looking that much better than the PS2 version.

But if'n your PS3 ain't BC, then it's far beyond a good deal for both games.

I'm going to go back for the Cyclops Eyes. You basically have to farm Cyclops for eyes. That can be REALLY annoying. I might go back for the Speed Run trophy. I'm only 2 segments into it, though. However, with Max Weapons/Stats I finished in a little over 5:45.

Challenge of the Gods: I'd need to put aside an afternoon to do it.

Challenge of the Titans: I've done the first one. Luckily for this one I don't have to do it all at once.

I hope that is not the case, as I can play both on my PS3 as is currently, but have seen enough screenshots and impressions to think it is worth picking this up since I plan on replaying both. It is a bit wasteful, sure, but if it is better, I would prefer to have it.
Just started playing GOW today, never played either of the games.
Holy shit man, you are in for a treat. :D

So did anyone else get "You got the touch" trophy glitched?

I had some friends over, playing GoW. I was in hades and I was telling them about climbing the spiked walls without taking damage nets you a gold trophy. I tried once to get a perfect and got sliced, then gave up and just climbed the first wall, falling down many times and whatnot and bam I get the trophy. Anybody else get this lucky?

I want to get this for Christmas.... I'm going to have to hold out on games until Christmas. So, I must play the waiting game.

Why hello there God of War Platinum Trophy!

Well every time you get hit you get knocked to the bottom so managing to get up means you climbed it without getting hit, therefor you get the trophy. I read it the same way at first but it doesn't mean you have to get up it the first time, just that you get up without getting hit sometime.
Does the Collection include the behind the scenes features from GOW II disc 2?
from what i was told everything from both disks is there if those are the videos youre talking about then yep and theres alot of them.

Yes, all extras are in the Collection. However, only GOW2 videos can be run from the XMB. GOW1 videos must be run from inside GOW1.

Thanks for the confirmation. Now I can debate whether it's worth giving up the sweet manuals for the flimsy nothingness. Yes, the game is more important, but damn those booklets add so much more to the epic feel.

it comes with a manual.

Not the same ones from the originals, right? I'm talking about the multi-page artwork laden descriptions and story background. The unboxing vid I saw of GOW Collection is nothing but a few pages of basic control instructions.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

You are correct.

Bummer. It sounds stupid to forfeit playing on the PS3 for some booklets, but the original games don't look bad on my Toshiba 720p. It would have been convenient to have on one disc though. Guess I'll wait for the eventual price drop.

Well that makes alot more sense! Thanks for the info. I was talking to my buddy on psn and he told me he got it while getting hit and knocked down, thinking it the same way too. But I guess this isn't a glitch then, just an easy gold... Well if you manage to get up it. That was pretty tough.

I picked up the game this weekend and got started, barely, on the first. The game still kicks as much ass as I thought it did back when it came out.

Congrats, Broly, on the 2 Platinums. :D

Anybody know what the point of the "full screen" option is? From what I can tell, it just zooms in on the image...

BTW, I'm trying for the platinum in GoW II and was wondering if it's possible to get enough red orbs to max out all weapons/magic for the "Blowing Your Wad" trophy in the first play through? I'm killing every enemy left and right and have gotten most of the treasure chests (I might have missed a 3 or 4).

I downloaded the demo for God of War III and played through it, and oh my god, I can't wait. Kratos is so much more badass looking on the PS3 than he was on the PS2.

I'm also about 3 hours into God of War, I'm about to enter Pandora's Temple (which I hear is a bit of a drag in the game). I've surpassed where I got in the PS2 version of the game, and already I love the trophy's.

My favorite trophy is during the massive siren fight just before you climb Chronos. I love how the trophy reads "Won't they shut up?," accompanied by Kratos headbutting them into the ground and throwing them like garbage :)
I read that GOW Collection can freeze on 60GB systems...any truth to this? Debating if I want the Amazon deal....
I have a 60gb system, and I have had no problems. Freezing issues with games are always random.

IN for one thanks to the Amazon promo. Can't wait to start these up. The GoW games are my favorite action games of all time, I believe.

Really not that tough. You just have to be patient and look for your openings. I got this trophy the LEGIT way after two checkpoint restarts. Just take your time!

ALSO, on an unrelated note, there are some game freezing/load bugs in this collection that have forced me to manually restart my PS3.

(SOME SPOILERS FOLLOW)

For instance, in GOWI, after I climbed out of Hades, I accidentally rolled back into the hole and the black load screen wouldn't go away....so I had to restart. Another instance in the first game...after I read one of the stone book altars in Pandora's temple, the game didn't freeze, but I couldn't move Kratos from that reading position...so another RESTART. (btw, I have a backwards compatible 80G)

No problems THUS FAR with GOWII. I just lobbed off Eurayles head.

Anyways, just some bugs that really pissed me off and made me redo some of the sections. I don't like to manually shut off my PS3 like that (you're not suppose to) but I think the pros still outweigh the cons. I love playing these two games in HI-DEF....two of the best action titles ever and they look stunning for ps2 generation.

Does that happen at the same spot, or is it random? I guess this is another reason to hold off and stick with the PS2 for now. Forcing a manual restart sounds ominous.
Awesome game so far.
Can't believe I never played this before!
Heh, still waiting for mine, but I never played it due to only playing RPGs back when I had a PS2. It's literally all I played, and there was a ton too so I never had a dry spell.

I am playing GOW on my 60GB and NO problems at all. I have finished the first game and am about half way through the second one. This game looks great in 720p even though it wasn't bad in 420p on the PS2. The only thing is some of the FMV movies look like they werent touched up while others are clear as day.

Like Broly and Addicted, I have had no issues so far with playing this game on my 60 GB. I am not very far into it, but still no problems yet.
