GOG Weekend Deal - Phantasmagoria series - 15-30% off

An old friend of mine and I played the first game on his Gateway 2000 back in the day. I am defiantly buying these two games now.

Wow, I can't believe the first one is '95! I remember seeing these in the Sierra newsletter

Ah man, remember when the Pentium 2 just seemed all powerful?

Although actually, that basic design (of the Pentium Pro really) is what's been brought down clear through our present day Core i7s :whistle2:D (With the weird detour through Pentium 4 land).

I get goosebumps from thinking about those days and my 8gig Quantum BigFoot harddrive, my NVIDIA 32mb GPU and 56k Robotics modem. Haha, damn life is moving too fast.

8GB...yeah, geez, I had to stop and remember, "no, 8GB is right". I had a 4GB Seagate drive back on my Pentium 1 MMX from '97. Geez...an entire hard drive that only holds 4GB...but then 5 years ago I got rid of a system with a much (physically) larger 32MB hard drive

these were the horror games of my childhood
glad that are still there and on sale to haunt me 15 years later....

I remember paying $79.99 for the original Phantasmagoria... the most expensive game I've ever purchased yet at the time it was incredible... now I imagine it'd be good for retro purposes but not much else.
I was literally just about to buy these when I saw this thread. AWESOME. Thanks for the head's up!
Awesome! That's hilariously cool timing! :D

i had this game way back in 95 when i was 5 years old..my sister got it for my mom for some reason..it wouldnt run on our computer though..sad day
Isn't this series one of those 'it's so bad, it's good.' ones?
No. Its bad but its also good, its not good because its bad. The voice acting kind of stinks, the interaction is limited at best and story is a little wonky. But with that said its actually a good game and represents a great time in computer gaming when you could push the boundaries, do something different and have something unique. When walking into a pc game store meant you could find something strange and new, unlike now where its all the same budget crap, mmo's or ports of console versions.

I liked 1 and 2 of these games, they were great and encourage anyone to buy them from gog.

I loved the first one. Puzzle of Flesh was... well, it was disturbing definitely. But I thought the game itself lacked and they were relying on the shock moments.

The first one was amazing, waaaaay back in the day. Never did bother with the second one, wish they would include the first Gabriel Knight instead.
