Gold Membership Code Not Working - Any Thoughts?

My gold membership expired earlier in the week so yesterday I purchased a 13 month code from Amazon hoping that I would be able to play 1vs100 last night. Yet every time I try to redeem it I keep getting error messages both online and on my console that say the transaction can't go through and I should try again later. Yea, as if later is quantifiable and I know how long to wait. Anyways, I've called customer support twice and they are unable to help me at all besides having me recover my gamer tag and reset my network configuration. Microsoft has confirmed that the code is still good and should work yet it doesn't. I've used codes in the past so there shouldn't be a problem now. Nothing is working and I'm getting very upset as it seems I'll miss 1vs100 again tonight as well. Any CAG solutions to this problem?
 
Sign in out of the console, sign back in, try code, restart console - if that doesn't work mix and repeat first 3 steps.
 
Live marketplace has been full of issues and bugs ever since the update.

I had to buy RB songs through the game's marketplace.
 
Well I'm just furious now. Because the code isn't working right now I bought the month of Gold for $1 thinking since I'm paying Microsoft directly that would work. Now even though Xbox.com and my system are saying I'm a Gold subscriber I'm not allowed to do anything Gold related like download new demos or play online. What the hell is going on right now with Live. Whatever they did on Tuesday has seriously screwed up their system. It's not even worth calling and complaining because their call center blows.

That's very odd. What is the Microsoft support actually saying?
 
i bet its because u have an american system and u bot a canadian membership or viseversa but it happend to my buddy he bot a canadian system and he moved to the states so i have to buy his memberships for him and mail them out there.
