Now that we know the Wii Wheel is actually pretty good, and actually better than just the Wiimote.. just wondering if anyone has experience with these.. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/3-Pa...sem/rpsm/oid/209234/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I'd hate to spend $45 on a set of wheels if these are just as good for $15. I understand it's just plastic(and rubber in this case), but didnt know if the size affected the sensitivity at all, or if these are even a different circumference than the official one.

Couldn't someone, in theory, take a few 8" paper plates, cut a hole in the middle, and have the same "cheaper" alternative than a wii wheel?

I think the official Wii Wheel is pretty awesome. Sure it's nothing special.. but c'mon. For $10 there's no need to look for an alternative, IMO.

I dont think the Wiimote fits inside the Gamecube's controller...

The only problem I see with that wheel is that the B button is not covered with anything. It is pretty hard to use the default B button for drifting when just using the Wiimote IMO.

OP - I was actually thinking the same thing as you as soon as I discovered I loved the Wii wheel. I was looking at some of the rubber ones and 3rd party plastic ones, and also considering buying some of the older games that came with wheels and then if I hated the game turing it over on goozex. Ultimately though, reviews of all the other wheels were very mixed. Some of them block the IR sensor, none of them have the raised B trigger and when I thought about it I couldn't imagine any of them feeling as solid as the official wheel does. I finally broke down and just ordered another official wheel.

You must be doing it wrong. My Wiimote fits perfectly inside my Wave Bird.

I'd be more inclined to just tape the wiimote to something round if I really needed a wheel object :/

I like playing Mario Kart Wii with just the remote alone, but I admit the wheel gives it enough heft to make it easier to stay straight and steady.
