A friend of mine is asking for $125 for a GameCube system, 13 games (James Bond 007: Nightfire, NFL Blitz 2003, MX Superfly feat. Ricky Carmichael, Need For Speed: Underground, Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, NHL Hitz 2002, James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire, Metroid Prime, Luigi's Mansion, Wrestlemania XVIII, ATV: Quad Power Racing 2, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3), memory card (which he says holds a lot of files), 2 controllers (both official 1st party controllers), 5 guides (101 Nintendo Secrets, Metroid Prime, WrestleMania XVIII, James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire, and Luigi's Mansion), original box, and a "sweet carrying case".

My question to you guys is:

Is this a good deal or should I haggle?

If the games are mostly decent titles, that sounds like a great deal to me. If they are old sports titles and other random junk games, then it's not so good.

Not knowing the titles, I'd probably tell him I'm interested and go over and take a look at what he really has.
 
Yeah, I figured out the titles and such. How about now?

Edit: Btw, I also found out that he has gotten requests higher, such as $175 for it, so I don't think haggling would be a good idea.
 
I'd say if the games are worth $50 to you go ahead and buy it from him for that price. Otherwise if the games all blow ask for cheaper
 
If you think he'd give it to them after you tried to haggle, then I'd ask him if he can give it any lower, maybe around $100. If he says no, then its a pretty good deal I'd say. BUt if you haven't seen it, go check out the condition of the stuff before buying.
 
It sounds like a decent deal at $125 if everything is in great shape as you say. If he's a friend of yours, you should probably offer him the full $125 asking price instead of trying to lowball him as some posters are suggesting. If you were a real friend, you'd probably tell him to sell it to the highest bidder anyway.
 
Maybe he is saying he got an offer so you won't haggle him. All of his games are cheap sports games. I would give him $100 tell him that a used (refurb) gamecube at a gamestore is $60 and none of the sports games sell for over $10 bucks and saying that is being nice. Or tell him you want just the system and peripherals. and you will give him like $80 or $95 bucks.
 
Not a bad deal. Justtake the crap games and trade them in to GR or Game Crazy and get some decent ones...and a WAVE BIRD
 
Amen, the "those games aren't that great" or "those are cheap games" don't hold water. There are some great titles in there, plus at $5 a piece ($65) +$15 for a controller + $5 for a memory card. Your only paying $40 for a gamecube, besides you could never find those games for $5 including shipping. Jump all over this man.
 
I doubt someone would actually offer $175 for that. Most of the games are pretty bad (or very cheap) and it doesn't have 4 controllers. If I were you I'd save my self the extra $50 and buy a used one from GS, or heck get a $100 bundle with a game worth owning. The only reason to ever pick this up would be that you wanted every singel one of those games, if you only want a few of them you really aren't going to do very well since trading or selling them off would be very difficult.
 
honestly, pass. None of the games are good except POP:WW and Metroid Prime. POP:WW is only $10 at CC starting sunday, and MP is like $13 used at gamestop. Buy a used GC at EB for $60, and get POP:WW, MP, RE4. Viewtiful Joe, and I might be forgetting something. That will only cost you like $130 used. If he will sell it for $110 or less, go for it. Those 4 games are better than those other 11 crap games.

9/13 of them are good and there are some decent ones. Go for it.
