I love my PS3 slim but the little 120gb HD that came with it has been maxed out for months thanks to CAG. I have around 110 PS3 games plus 20 PSN games and tons of DLC. It's so annoying to have to constantly delete and download things onto my HD.

Any good deals out there? I see people all the time on here bragging how they only spent $50-$60 for one. Did they get them before the HD fluctuations or did they get in on a nice deal that I'm missing out on?

HDD prices are still higher than they were pre-flood, though down somewhat from their high prices.

I would get on Newegg's mailing lists for their Shell Shocker and other email deals. I've seen 750GB HDDs and 1TB HDDs on the cheaper, though not at the $50-$60 prices.

They mail out coupons a few times a month on random items and sometimes, it's 2.5" HDDs. They also do random deals on HDDs, though you need to be on their mailing lists to get them.

This one tend to drop around $55 when BB puts the PS3 accessories on sale

if you don't mind having a portable HD vs internal check TRU & target I still see ones that slipped thru last yrs mega clearance $27-$50 for 250 GB - 500 GB(when you see a TRU clearance deal for games check for these as well sometimes you need to scan them). 750 - 1 TB ones can be had for $85ish check staples/office max/PC Richards

Somebody posted about a 1 TB Scorpio Blue going for $90 at Best Buy a few days ago: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=325993

That's the cheapest I've seen since I started watching out for 1 TB 2.5" drives last fall. I bought mine for about $97 (after shipping) a month ago, which is one of the better deals I've seen other than that. There was also a dude here on CAG who suggested buying an external USB hard drive and ripping out the contents, since 1+ TB external drives can sometimes be cheaper than 1 TB internal 2.5" drives (plus, you can put your old PS3 HDD back into the external drive's shell, so you'll have an external hard drive you can use for whatever), but this comes with two extra stipulations: 1. You have to make sure that the drive inside is 2.5" so that it'll fit into your PS3 (and this information isn't always easy to find), and 2. You'll have a bit more manual labor ahead of you, of course.

Shrike4242 recommended Newegg's mailing list, and while I agree that it'd be a good thing to watch, I have to point out that I never saw any good deals in all the time that I was watching it. The only eligible 2.5" drives that I saw on sale still ended up being more expensive than at places like Amazon or Buy.com.

Thanks for the responses.

Reading the thread Josh posted has me questioning if I really am good to go with a standard 12.5mm HDD or not? I keep reading to go with a 9.5mm as it being the PS3 standard in the how to guides online but then I see people saying 12.5mm working as well? I'm not very sure.

All I know Is I'd prefer to just play it safe and try to find something in the $70-$90 range max that will just make for a stress free swap. I don't wanna run into any of the issues a lot of people have had with sizes or not even being recognized by the console.
