Good NES RPGs

I just got back from the used game store and while I was there I saw loads of games that I've never heard of that looked like RPGs. I was wondering if I could get some opinions on what you guys like as far as NES RPGs goes. I'd appreciate it if I didn't get a bunch of repeats, I just want to know what to keep an eye out for, not how many people like the same game. Here are some of the RPGs I already know are awesome:

Final Fantasy
Dragon Warrior I
Dragon Warrior II
Dragon Warrior III
Dragon Warrior IV
Legend of Zelda, The
Adventures of Link, The

Here's some of the games I saw that I knew nothing about, perhaps you guys could tell me what you think of them as well:

Magic of Sheherazade, The
Wizards and Warriors
Solstice
Swords and Serpents
Legacy of the Wizard

Those were all $2.50 so let me know if I'm a dumbass for not buying them yet so I can go get them.

Magic of Scherezade and Legacy of the Wizard are two of my favorite games of all time. Awesome, awesome games.

Edit: Legacy of the Wizard isn't exactly a RPG.

So those 2 are definately worth $2.50? What about the other 2? Do they suck or have you just not played them. Also, what style of game is Legacy of the Wizard then?

Sorry for asking so many questions. I like to do my research before purchasing games.

Legacy of the Wizard is sort of an RPG. It's part RPG, part side-scroller.

Wizards and Warriors is also awesome, but a side scroller, not a RPG.

Swords and Serpents is a old-school RPG, I enjoy it a lot.

Solstice I haven't played much.

I would say all of them are worth $2.50. Definitely MoS, LoW, W&W, and S&S.

Awesome... Can't wait to add these to my collection tomorrow. Any other old-school RPGs that come to mind when thinking of those?

Here's a quick list of RPG-ish games off the top of my head

Faria
Crystalis
Willow
Bard's Tale
Faxanadu
Gargoyle's Quest 2
Wizardry
Rygar

There we go, that's the list I'm talking about. Got 'em all written down and ready for tomorrow's shopping spree. Anyone else got RPG suggestions?

Definately get Crystalis

I loved Ultima:Exodus but I remember it being very hard. Of course, I was pretty young back then.

I also have Swords and Serpents and liked that a lot. You do have to spend a bunch of time mapping the dungeons if you wantto get anywhere though.

A lot of the games rockhero listed are pretty action-oriented with RPG elements, nothing like the DW series or FF series, just FYI. I'd call Rygar an action game. They are good games though.

Yeah, you are right. The NES didn't have TOO many pure RPGs, but it had lots of games with RPG elements, some of which I've listed.

Judging by his inclusion of things like Wizards and Warriors into his first list, I thought he would be down with games like that also.
