I saw some clips from this on tv last night and I was actually laughing. Esp JP that guy was pretty funny.

So was this a funny movie or am I missing something about why it's so hated when other Adam Sandler productions (which I generally think are ok but nothing special) are so loved?

It's actually a pretty hilarious movie.
I didn't know it was hated. It's that same kind of "stupid" humor that is in all the other Happy Madison movies, but I'm not above stupid humor.

It's worth a watch.

Definitely a sleeper.

I went in not expecting much but actually came out quite surprised. It's a really funny movie.
You need to watch this unrated to fully appreciate it.
That fat dude got some serious action with them double dragons!
Wow J.P, that is a great outfit. How much do clothes cost in The Matrix?
:robot:*vooot* *vit* *voooit*

:whistle2:o Shut up! Mind your own business!

I watched it with low expectations thinking "Its an Adam Sandler movie but without Adam Sandler". Turns out its better this way! Funny stuff, bonus funny for video game references even though some feel forced.

"Your shits weak! Wiiiiizeak!"

"...you have a race car bed."

"Yeah, but it's a fucking sweet race car bed. My roommates are getting me rims, and maybe a CB radio so I can talk to other race car beds."

"We challenge you to Dance Dance Revolution."
"Well, we don't have Dance Dance Revolution. So......you're dumb,"

IDK, I saw that movie baked outta my mind and it wasn't all that funny (and the plot was fucking retarded).

Grandma's Boy, on the other hand, was a pretty funny movie (but the plot was pretty dumb).

It was better than some of the other garbage that company has released. It had its moments, and you may enjoy it because it has gaming in it.

Follow it up with Jekyl and Hyde:Together Again and then The Kentucky Fried Movie for "retro hilarity night at the movies".

This movie was actually pretty damn funny. Sandler's company went wrong by marketing it as a 'video game' movie and not including much video game related stuff thereby insulting so much of its target audience. I remember it catching so much hate on the blogosphere whereas it definitely wouldn't have received all that bad press had it been perceived as a 'stoner' movie which is what it really was.

There are some hilarious parts but there is shit so stupid it makes me cringe. The amount of funny stuff fortunately out weighs the crap.

I turned off my dvd player after about 10 minutes of "Strange Wilderness".
The movie is hilarious. The DDR scene is awesome.
It's sad that I can't enjoy that scene cause all I keep thinking is he isn't hitting the patterns to that song at all.

Or maybe hes moving so fast that you can't see him hit the patterns with the naked eye!

Please Sit On My Face

Go watch this movie immediately. My girlfriend was disgusted at the beginning (the bathroom scene, where I couldn't stop laughing), but after that she joined me in the laughter.

When I saw this thread had 40+ posts, a majority "It's actually good" opinion was the last thing I was expecting.

This might be a good one to check out the next time I end up bored and without any clue what to rent.

Haha I was telling a buddy about it yesterday - I was like "Have you seen this movie" and he said "No ... should I?"

There's a ton of bad buzz around this movie which is why I was so surprised it actually had some pretty funny parts. I also liked how, even with all the goofiness, the characters came off as authentic. I find most Sandler comedies are a bit heavy-handed in their portrayal of heroes vs villains (Dont get me wrong - Happy Gilmore was hilarious, it just started getting old around the time of Mr Deeds). But not this one.
Mr. Deeds wasn't a Sandler film, it was a remake..he didn't create the property.
It is a remake, but I consider it to be a routine Sandler comedy. It has all the goofiness, gross-out humor, and even has Shooter McGavin as the villain.

In contrast Punch Drunk Love or Spanglish are movies that I would say are not "Sandler films" perse - instead they are comedy/drama films starring Sandler.

it was very under-rated and a true gem, i would def. check the whole thing out..seeing the mom from everybody loves raymond high was just a bonus...i remember catching this in theaters, my now ex and i were the only ones there, and we actually watched it! :)
