Posted in the gameRush thread, but I just had to give this it's own thread. :) Greatest thing I've ever done. It's my new greatest accomplishment. :wink:

I went to GameRush about 15 minutes ago with 10 GC and XBOX games (one wasn't accepted, though) and 4 GBC games. I checked the trade in values and noticed that about $5 was added on to each XBOX/GC game and that the GBC games were about $1 each for 2 of them and $5 each for the other 2. I kept them since the trade in wasn't that great.

I then start asking him about the prorder deal. I asked if he was going to combine the deals and he said that they were combinable!!!!!!!!!

As I go to get my dad so he can sign the paper, he starts talking to the manager about the deals being combined. I was worried for a moment. He talked to the manager for about 10 minutes and the manager said that the employee was "the game man" (it sounded VERY lame to me as well), he let the guy decide. I swear to god, if that guy hadn't been smoking his cigarretes before I came in, he would have said no. But he said he would take the blame if the store got in trouble. I think to myself that I'm loving this guy.

I then checked a list of games that he said were just some of the big name titles (like Halo 2, Metroid Prime 2, etc.) and that I can preorder any game that I want if anything comes to mind. I preordered Metroid Prime 2, Paper Mario 2, and Doom 3 for $30 each.

Then I had a coupon for trade 3 games, get any used game for $4.99 that I had gotten a couple months ago. I saw 2 games that I wanted. Spiderman 2 (Xbox) and Mario Kart DD (GC). I decided to get Mario Kart since it had case, instructions, and was in MINT condition.

Then after I had about $140 from my tradeins - $90 from preorders -$5 from the used game I decided that I might as well get Burnout 3 since I had gotten such a great deal.

As I look at him, he pulls out this coupon sheet and says since I traded in a game, that I get $10 off a new game purchase. Keep in mind, that I had used up all of my trade in of games credit from the trade 3 get a used game for $4.99 deal and the preorders but I kept my mouth shut and just stood staring at him. I got Burnout 3 (Xbox) for $43 after tax but didn't have to pay anything out of pocket since I still had trade in credit left on my card. No cash out of pocket.

That's pretty much a detailed description of the event. Longest post I've written here on CAG.

Pretty amazing deal. That's all I have to say tonight. I have to go do my homework, now.

The great thing is, I still have over $100 still left in trade in credit. GameRush has earned me buisness for a loooooooooooong time. :)
 
You're lucky. My Gamerush has a real asshole working there. He won't let anyone combine anything, and also allow more than 2 trades per day. He also checks the history of every trade and makes sure he doesn't give full credit to anyone trading in newer games who bought them for the $5 or $10 or pre-order deal.

GameRush is an awesome place. They have given me the best deals that I've ever gotten. Tonight just put me in shock. I traded in games that weren't even worth half of the credit that they gave me to get Mario Kart DD in MINT, Burnout 3, and Paper Mario, Metroid Prime 2. and Doom 3 (Xbox) preordered and paid for in full. You won't be dissapointed from GameRush and will learn why they have my buisness. :)
 
great finds,wish i knew where one was near me. screw where i work if i could find much much better deals.

Wow, checking to see how much you paid for a game before deciding how much to offer in a trade deal is total crap. Game X in good condition should get the same $ in trade regardless. Shaq-fu em and sell it on eBay.
 
I just found out the joys of GameRush, too. I've been making out like a bandit ever since. Plus, the guy who works at the one closest to me is way cool. I gave him my new copy of T3 Redemption Xbox because he's been so helpful (I had PS2, too). When you get good employees, it makes all the difference.
