help I have never played any of these I which one should I pick up? I heard that Growlanser is a strat game like FFT?

I haven't played DDS yet but I can say that Growlanser isn't that great. I liked it a bunch for about 5 hours but it got ridiculously repetitive.

If you haven't played Tensei Nocturne yet I can highly recommend that one. I'll get into DDS soon (just got it today) and then let you know.

I had the same problem with Growlanser after 5 hours the game going really boring. I bought the Deluxe pack when it first came out and I only played the game for 5 hours before I put it up. I don't regreat buying the Deluxe pack since it had a bunch of cool stuff, but its sad when the extras are more fun then the game.

I recomend going with Digital Devil Saga. Growlanser isn't worth $20

Let me guss the people that aren't happy with Growlanser is proably playing Growlanser II. Go ahead and skip to Growlanser III for a much better game.

I haven't gotten a chance to play DDS yet, but based on how much I really enjoyed Nocturne, I think DDS would be the way to go.

DDS DDS DDS DDS DDS DDS

Then, if you like that, pounce on the far more challenging SMT: Nocturne. Growlanser will leave your wallet crying. When it (Growlanser) comes down to twenty or thirty, then look into it. Stella Deus looks promising in May, if you like that wickedly cool sprite/strategy combo, and for those who like it kinky, Samurai Western looks like a decent dose of fun- IMO. But, for the money ( and the ten hours DDS has already consumed of my life ), go with DDS.

I was lucky to find Growlanser used on ebgames.com a little while back, with coupons it brought it down to about 30 or so. I myself am very fond of it. Not the best Working Designs title from the few hours I've put into it, but a solid title, nonetheless.

Incidentally, is Growlanser III a direct sequel to II?

Growlanser, DDS is much more expensive right now and if you enjoy it you'll want to spend another $50 to see the end of the story, remember it is a 2 part game.

I bought Growlanser (complete and excellent condition) a couple of weeks back for $10 at Blockbuster. Seems like it can be a enjoyable game in spurts. And at least there's vioce acting.

But I enjoy both games. I just need to find the time to really get into Nocturne. I bought it the last time EB ran b2g1. I've only been able to get about 10 hrs in.

Digital Devil Saga has voice acting in it. Maybe you were thinking of Nocturne.

Speaking of Nocturne, I also need to find time to play it.
