GTA IV SE 360 $59.99 IV Amazon Preorders bIV 1/3/08

Sorry for the cryptic title. I needed to shorten it and couldn't resist using "IV" a bunch of times.

Only works for people who had GTA IV SE for Xbox 360 preordered before the 1-3-08.

I had my Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition preordered at Amazon around New Years. There was a thread (now in the graveyard) for an accidental price decrease to $59.99 on the 3rd of January. It was only for a really short time. I emailed Amazon and asked them if I would be able to get the $59.99 price adjusted as it's part of their Preorder Guarantee and it was done. I just saved $30.

(note: Amazon usually adjusts prices automatically to the lowest on preorders, but I guess they didn't do it for this one since it was a mistake.)

Be nice to the folks with your requests. Their customer service is one of the best around.

Here's how to do it by email:
  1. Have your order number for the game.
  2. Click Help on the Amazon page.
  3. On the right side under Contact Us click Customer Service button.
  4. Click on the email tab
  5. Put in your order number.
  6. Choose Returns and Refunds for your issue.
  7. Write a nice note saying you saw it for $59.99 for a short time and you'd like your preorder price adjusted.
This also works for any price adjustments you'd like to make on items you already received as long as it's within 30 days. For example, if you saw a lower price on amazon than what you bought it for you can get the difference refunded back.

dam, nice. i'm not a fan of getting special editions but if i had pre-ordered it i would've gotten it for regular price =[
 
Guess I'll try this - the worst they can say is no.

Or they can call me fat, which would be worse, but I don't think they know how I really am.
