GTA San Andreas for xbox has a release date

thats not confirmed. EB always just posts dates that they think are gonna be the day. They could be a month off for all we know. They have had madden 2006 date up since like early december, but there is no confirmation of that

UUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..................................Actually, this was confirmed on IGN a while ago.

The game is SUPERB!!!

I was totally against the whole series, until my friend handed me the controller in his SanAndreas.
It was FAQing awesome!!!

I went out the next day, and bought the double pack for the XBox.
I love it!!!

I can't wait for the 3rd installment on the XBox now!!

But yeah,.........old news.
Thanks though.
:)

Uhh.. yeah, except Rockstar sent out a press release in December stating the date. WSB got it covered on the link, TX got it covered on the board link.. i'm just here to be the ass.

That is, hands down, the dumbest thing i've ever read in my life. Including all of DLF's posts. Combined.

Although it could have been worded better, I tend to agree with him. Its more of the same except with a few little additions. I don't buy the newest football game every year, and for the same reason I won't be buying San Andreas...

Well that and I barely made it through GTA3 without turning it off from boredom and never made it more than an hour or two through Vice City. The GTA series is neat, but its not fun.

Why were you against GTA? Was it just that its popular, so it must suck?

I'm always surprised how many people claim GTA isn't a fun series (and not picking on cornfedwb. I've always found this to be one of the most fun series. I think it mixes so many different types of games with its own feel. I've yet to have a friend come over (gamer or not) who didn't enjoy GTA when they play it. I'm not saying you don't honestly think its a boring game. I just wonder how many people rag it without giving it a chance (and that's kind of sad really).

I think it's pretty safe to say that there will be Madden '06. Wanna know when it will release? At the same time every other Madden has released: August. I can tell you when Madden '07 will be out if you'd like.

Neither of you have played San Andreas, yet you are both saying it's exactly the same as Vice City. I find that extremely hilarious. San Andreas is a very very huge change. The addition of bikes, skydiving, "pimping" your ride, gangs, jumping walls, swimming, and everything else make this heads above GTA3 and Vice. So please don't bash it unless you've sat down (more than an hour) and played it.

Personally I loved GTA3 and GTAVC and can't wait for San Andreas.

Though I think for someone that didn't find the first two fun the additions you list, Scorch, probably won't change that opinion.

Why not? There's nothing quite like bouncing up and down in the car listening to "Nothing But A G Thang" and then riding your bike cross country.. then finding a four wheeler.. then climbing a mountain and skydiving off of it..

Ooh, or do what I did - get the bike on top of the building and get the parachute.. get your speed up, jump, abandon the bike in mid air, fall a bit then open the chute. That OWNED.

Well,.......... I play mainly RPGs, and fantasy action/adventures.

Real life stuff usually sucks.

Like why would I want to play a war simulator, when I have to do M-16 training every year. I don't want to kill insurgents in real life, so doing it virtually doesn't pique my interest.

Although,... I never thought GTA would actually get me hyped about doing drive-by's, but it is invigorating.

The characters are VERY likeable, and the premise is as good as any classic movie.
Not to mention the KICK-ASS music.

So,.......NO,......I wasn't against it.
I just figured it wasn't my cup of tea.
Now I see that it is JUST what I needed.

Same goes with Riddick.

I hated the first movie,.......and I refuse to watch the second,.......but the game is RIDICULOUS!!
I love it!!!

I just wish Rockstar would return to making games for Nintendo's consoles.
AND DON'T talk about the GBA.
:)

I applaud you sir for your message board elitist opinions that are portrayed as fact! Huzzah!

I have yet to play San Andreas. So I will one day give it a try.

The thing is with GTA I played 3 for maybe 1-2 days ttal of 4-9 hours. Then it got boring. I mean its just not my type of game. Its real life (sort of) and I play to get away from real people or lifelike circumstances.

Wow, you go around killing people and hijacking cars in your REAL life.....whoa.

Look at what you wrote.. that's all interesting, cool to do once or twice, sure. But its not fun. The series mission structure is highly repetative, the sandbox play gets old quickly and I don't get any sort of visceral thrill from picking up a hooker than beating her to death afterwards the way many people seem to. I have no problem with people loving GTA, but personally its an awesome tech demo, but not much of a game. (I also feel this way about Fable btw.)

PS - I have played San Andreas, I'll just never own it.

Do you think before you type? If I added an IMO at the beginning.. that would make the whole post different to you somehow? Bugger off now.

No what I meant by that is its about real people, or real situations. Its like the damn Sims. I personally dont find it FUN. As Cornfed said its nor fun.

The sims is neat and GTA is also. But thats it it gets boring after a while. I have not ruled this out as a future play but the two samples I had of the game became really boring really quick.

Back to the point of the topic I am sure this is a big win for Xbox fans as this is truely a popular franchise. I just dont particulary care for it.
How much different is this from the PS2 version?
The smart money seems to be that Rockstar will probably do up San Andreas similar to how they did up the double pack. Basically the same game, but with better graphics/framerate.

But if anyone has better info, please post away.

And fix any bugs they found in the code after it went to press.

Oh yeah custom soundtracks are a mortal lock. Perfect game for them.

Been so long since I played VC I forgot about how cool it was cruising the streets listening to The Smiths "There is a Light That Will Never Go Out".

And yeah, I expect they'd do their best to fix any bugs that have been discovered.

I dunno, I'll wait for it to go down around 20 before I pick it up probably. I was not a big fan of Vice City, but for 20 bucks I guess its worth it.

I'll probably go back and research but at what price is this releasing? I can't imagine it coming out at the $50 price point. GTA III and Vice City were released as a DOUBLE-pack at $50. I would guess maybe $39.99 -- perhaps $29.99, but who knows? :whistle2:k

EDIT: oops, sorry OP covered it in his link -- $50!

Not with Rockstar. Rockstar's famous for near 100% straight ports.
