Kind of a complex post, but I'm looking to get into playing guitar in the near future. I wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on a good beginner guitar (probably going to stick w/ electric for me personally) that won't lighten my wallet too much.
I want something that's quality, and will last, but is sitll entry-level and inexpensive. I know, the best of both worlds...but as a beginner, quality doesn't mean the best there is, just something that I'll enjoy playing and I'll notice the build and sound quality being good enough. I can't really define that better since I haven't really played before, so I leave that to you to help in judging.
Does anyone have any recommendations/deals that they're aware of? Or one to sell me on the cheap would be acceptible too.
Oh, also, this is a side note...but does anyone know if a home audio receiver could theoretically be used as a makeshift guitar amp? I'm sure the speakers/receiver aren't designed for it, but does anyone know if it would actually DAMAGE anything, to try this? I don't know much about the way electric guitars output sound to an amp, so it could very well be dangerous for all I know, but I figured I'd ask somewhere first.
