Hey everyone, as CheapyD mentioned in the lastest CAGcast, we now have a Guitar Hero III Tour Group going over at guitarhero.com. If you are interested in signing up you can do so here:

The site actually tracks your stats and shows how you stack up against others. It even lets you compare across platforms.

Hope everyone decides to join up and help us climb up the leaderboards! :D

Some people have had issues linking immediately after signing up, but I suggest trying again later in the day as that has usually fixed the problems!
 
I joined. Is this for online when you go against someone or does it track your in game stats?

The stats should be everything. I believe Glock just started this thread here to get the attention of the PS3 users. He advertised in the Wii thread too, the groups mostly 360 users. We just need everyone to join so CAG stays up in the top 20.

Yes, it is cross platform so everyone is included regardless of if you play on PS3, 360 or Wii, (unfortunately there is no PS2 support :cry:.)

Regardless of how good or bad you are at the game we get groupies (points) for all the songs you play regardless of difficulty/score so sign up and link you game to your user ID on the website and the CAGs will get credit!

Hey everyone, I was just browsing the GHIII Community site and noticed that they added alot of cool functionality to help you track your scores. Now you can see all your scores/streaks/stars by tiers and difficulty! They also have stats for all the DLC and Co-Op! It looks like its a great time for everyone to sign up for the CAGs Official Tour Group. Here is the link:

NOTE: They are also adding some new DLC today including a FREE download of "We Three Kings" by Steve Ouimette (the guy who played Devil Went Down to Georgia for the version in the game)!
 
I'm trying to join up. This may sound stupid but I don't understand where I get the VIP code so I can link my PS3 account to my GH account.

EDIT: Nevermind I'm a moron: I have to log into the GAME and select the ONLINE section from my PS3 to get the code. DUH!:dunce:

Find your PlayStation® Network username in the PlayStation® System Software under the Friends icon
  • Enter your PlayStation® Network username in the PlayStation® Network Username section below.
From the Main Menu, select 'Online'. Next, select www.guitarhero.com.
  • Enter the VIP Passcode displayed on the screen in the sections below.
  • Click the 'Link Account' button underneath.
That's it! Your gameplay data is now linked to the Guitar Hero Community.

Thanks for the help. For some reason I was thinking I had to get the VIP code through the PSN. Now that my account is linked up is there something special I have to do to join the CAG tour group?

I'm still learning the game but if my playing helps no matter how much I suck I'm glad to contribute.


Nevermind again... Just found the "JOIN" link on the CAG page.
 
Welcome to the group. I feel like I'm getting better. I'm still playing on easy and I want to be able to get 5 stars on all songs before I advance.

Yeah that's usually what I do since I'm not a pro at these games so I try and work my way up the difficulty levels.

Damn, I've been able to get 5 stars for every song on easy except for Raining Blood. If that one is hard for me on easy I'm afaid of what it will be like on Hard or Expert!


Does the game award the stars by total points or number of notes hit?
 
My gf just got me GH3 today, so I just signed up for the group. I'm probably going to be logging a lot of time in the coming days w/ this.

Requested to join CAG, but I can't link my code, it keeps giving me errors. The GH3 FAQ says to try later because of network traffic. D'oh...
