Hi. Was thinking of getting rockband drum set with guitar to play guitar hero 2,3 and thinking of picking up rockband games. Anyone can tell me overall best gameplay, graphics, etc. for what console?

I like greenday so that is a must. I look at gamestop website and see that they have greenday plus at $19.99 listed as new, but the box is not red. Does that mean that greenday plus got converted to preown like the regular green day? Does that apply for anything that is listed on gamestop as "new" with bold grey box?

Also, what is the best guitar people use to play? I see so many like from guitar hero world tour, hero 5, madcatz mustang, rockband 1, etc.

I'm mostly an Xbox 360 player for the GH / Rock Band games.  I love the wireless guitar that was bundled with GH5 for its size, durability, and the star power button you can activate with the butt of your palm instead of tipping it like a fool.  Plus it has the tap/slide bar you need to finish certain challenges in that game not found on earlier models.

If you've got smaller hands, the Rock Band guitar is really good if you use the smaller fret keys.  My son liked those when he first started (he was 8) because it was easier to do triple chords and the green-orange stretch.

I don't think graphics matter much on these - they were never that good to begin with.  I remember playing GH2 and GH3 on standard def 32" TV and it looked fine (and you didn't have to calibrate for lag like the early HD sets).

I saw that Amazon has the regular Green Day Rock band for $23 new. As far as those games go, I played the first few Guitar Hero games on PS3 with my wife and we loved them.

We had two guitars, each different, but I know one was the world tour edition and I really enjoyed it.

I have not played any of the Rock Band games so I can't comment on them or any other instrument aside from the guitar, but I really enjoyed Guitar Hero on my PS3. The graphics were good for what the game is, and it was fun too.

I'm also a 360 fan and owner, but although I have not played any of those games for it, I would guess the graphics and all are just about the same. Pretty much a matter of which system you like more.

360 you have to pay for Gold (online stuff etc) but with the PS3 you get the option to buy download able content with buying a sub for PS+. Although I will say that X-Box has better online servers (some PS3 fans may argue that).

Anyway my man, I hope some of this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

Oh yeah, about Gamestop, you could call your local store and ask them if that price is for a new copy (it may be) or for a used one. I don't like Gamestop because usually unless a game is on sale or clearance the price difference between new and used is only a few bucks. Personally I would rather eat the difference and get a new copy. I would check eBay, and if it is a reputable seller, you should be able to find a new copy cheaper then what you might pay for a used one at Gamestop.

Edit: Mad Katz is an alright brand but you get what you pay for (usually) as the saying goes.
