Gundam Musou PS3 (Import) - $66.99 w/ FREE Shipping @ Yesasia.com

Not really a deal... especially when you consider that it's maybe $3 less than Play-Asia's price before any coupons (and it's $65 for the Asian version) and that you'll probably have to wait 2 weeks for YesAsia to actually get the damn game in.

If you are a new customer to YesAsia.com you can use the coupon code:
...and recieve $5 off. You can also go setup a new e-mail account to get the coupon to work if you are a returning customer.

Has anyone here had a chance to play it? I'm fairly interested in it.

Not to mention that I'm dying to order an import PS3 game to see the no region lock with my own two eyes.

i didn't think it was a bad deal considering that if you don't have a coupon to use on play asia, the game is gonna cost you $69.90 + international shipping for the japanese version.

i'm sure if people are really interested in the initial run of the game, they could possibly benefit from saving a couple bucks. subjective i suppose.

[quote name='omegaweapon7']wait, a joint company game featuring gundam + dynasty warriors?

worthy import[/QUOTE]

This may actually be the first truly great Gundam game... I'm cautiously optimistic though. Anyone know if this is headed to the US, or will I need to import it?

Gameplay is pure Shinsangoku Musou though, with players pitting their chosen Gundam versus hundreds, perhaps thousands of foes in full-on metal-smashing battlefield action. Decide the outcome of the One Year War in all-out, mech-brawling style with Gundam Musou!

Well my interest just went through the roof.

the Capcom made Gundam games are already pretty good. If you count import there are the G Generation games.

Which Gundam games did Capcom make?

In the US -

Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon (PS2)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam ( PS2)

In Japan there are more games with at least one on gamecube, and Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED Destiny: Rengou vs. Z.A.F.T. II Plus as the most recent one. They are actually port of from the arcade version.

I played Federation Vs. Zeon... it was good... a lot better than the other Gundam games I've played... but great? I'm not so sure about that.

I know this is a little off topic but I found the G Generation games to be quite enjoyable. A.C.E. 2 and Super Robot Wars games are great too (IMO). It's just too bad they'll never come out here (other than Original Generations but that's different).

Has a co-op mode been confirmed for this? I know every DW/SW game since DW3 has had it, so I imagine this does too, but I'd like some confirmation.

ONLINE co-op is what I'm really after, but split-screen would do.

Well Federation Vs. Zeon is basically the game of the series. If you have a chance to play the latest game in the series, they are a lot better . Epically if you can import

I'm always interested in gundam games, even though i know it won't be as good as i hope (jaburo still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth)- and gundam crossfire aside from visual gives nothing to write home about, i'm still a sucker for gundam- just wish they would move away from 0079 and 083 and do more with wing, seed, hell, i'll take g gundam at this point- battle assault 3 with seed was a high point for me. but the idea of dynasty warrior game play? my full attention even if i need an online translation! thanks for the head up!

According to a quick read on GameFAQ's, Gundam Musou does in fact have Gundam's from Gundam Wing, G Gundam, and some other series.

Also saw someone quote this on GameFAQ's... strong possibility for a US release:

Game Watch, Famitsu.com, ITmedia +D Games, Gpara.com, and DengekiOnline.com covered a press event held by Bandai Namco, Koei, and Sony for Gundam Musou. Bigwigs appearing were Bandai Namco Holdings president Takeo Takasu, Koei co-founder Keiko Erikawa, and Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kutaragi. Erikawa commented that the title represents for Koei the first collaboration with another company in its 29-year history. She went on to say she wanted the game to sell 2 million copies though Bandai Namco's more modest Shin Unozawa says they're looking to have worldwide sales of 1 million, an achievement that would still make Gundam Musou notable even amongst the best-selling Gundam games. As that implies, Kutaragi is quoted in the Dengeki article as saying "Because Gundam is a work that has fans worldwide, I want to release it overseas quickly."

Sony is apparently expecting huge sales of this.

Gundam games selling well in America? What?

Even though there is a good fanbase here, I seriously doubt Gundam Musou will sell like hot cakes this side of the Pacific.

I could see this selling well in the US, I have no interest in the Gundam series, but it looks fun as hell. And who doesn't like giant robot on giant robot violence?
