Half Life 2 - Xbox style

I read a Game Informer article awhile ago talking about Half Life 2 being translated to the X-box. They got to try it and said it was excellent. I think it could be a miracle for those of us who arn't exactly "up to speed" with Half Life 2's req.'s. However transitions tend not to make huge impressions on gamers but become another money making scheme behind the heartless corparation. I'll be giving it the benefit of the dbout..

Heres another preview, I didn't read it so I dont no what to expect: Uber Review.

Discuss!

Discuss!
I read that GI preview a while ago. They seemed to think it was pretty good, but the controls might be a problem with some of the game.

And Doom 3 made a great transition, so there's definitely hope.

I'm really curious to how this turns out. I really want to play the game but I'd rather wait a few years until I get a new PC than play a diminished version

As long as all the features, content and gameplay remain intact, I could give two shits about whether or not how many polygons a bad guy has. It's all about gameplay to me, baby.
If your pc can't play HL2 you really need to upgrade.
Thanks for letting me know.

Edge magazine says that although the game maintains great graphics(which were impressive on the xbox, but were mere shadows to the PC version). They stated that the framerate chops and chugs like its about to fall over...

God I love that magazines honesty

In other words, people who are idiots.

Also, I heard that the hl2 for xbox wont have multiplayer, which is a let down.

It is confirmed that there is no multiplayer for the xbox version

My computer cant reun HL2, and im just fucking fine with that...cause i'd rather not spend 500 bucks upgrading my computer every 6 months

Since Valve doesn't have control of the servers and VU won't allow Steam servers on XBL, that one's just common sense..

but yeah, it's cool that you just found out about it and whatnot, but we've got several discussion topics on it..

And i'm really sick and fucking tired of people that say "my machine can't run half-life 2!" but haven't bothered to download the demo to test it. I've seen HL2 run on a 500mhz with a 32mb video card and 256mb ram, if your computer is worse than that, don't bother turning it on anymore.

Dude, I figured this out when I posted the first pictures of hl2 on this board, so in reality you figured it out a WHILE back.

Whos the bitch now?

how exactly is NOT playing games on your computer stupid? Really.

I would argue that buying a computer solely for games is pretty stupid but I digress.

I am in no mood to update my computer right now (as I like to build my own) so I am looking forward to playing the xbox version. Plus I work all day at a computer, it will be nice to stretch out on the couch and play.

What the hell is your problem dude... I dont play games on my computer, I spend the entire day in front of one at work on photoshop and editing videos etc, I grew up on console gaming (that way I can get my wife to play), its what I prefer... macs are not gaming machines... they are preferred by people in my profession that do design work etc... I dont see how being a mac user makes me an idiot

Ironic with your Halo avatar... how that game was originally going to be made for the mac until microsoft stepped in and...
I still can't figure out why they didn't make this for the 360 instead. Would've been a great launch title.
with CS source...we would be cooking with gas

I desperately need to know if the map editor will be a part of the Xbox port!
but the controls might be a problem with some of the game.
I agree, I'm curious as to what the control scheme will be. I think Primary Fire, Secondary Fire, and Sprint all need triggers or shoulder buttons. But the XBOX obviously only has 2 triggers. So they will probably end up putting Sprint as a crappy button (not that that will make the game much worse, but still something to think about).

Did it run well at all? It ran pretty bad on my computer on lowest possible setting before I upgraded the video card and ram, and that was 2.6ghz, 64mb video card, and 256ram.
