Any speculation on what prices are going to do the next two months?

When Halo 3 came out, I got my legendary edition and paid the full 150 bucks. A year later I see them at best buy for 40 bucks. Made me feel kinda silly.

Last year, I got the Modern Warfare 2 prestige edition which came out at 150 bucks for 65 two weeks before Christmas.

They say that THIS TIME it's actually limited but I'm not so sure. I've been following the prices for the Flameing helmet on ebay the past few weeks and after an initial spike, the bids are going down. This leads me to believe that demand for the legendary edition and the flaming helmet is going down.

Does anyone have more info or speculation on what's going to happen price wise before Christmas? I'd like to get the Legendary edition but if prices are going to stay above 140, I may as well get it now. But if waiting a month means a 50 dollar price reduction, I can wait. Thoughts?
 
Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. There's copies everywhere. It seems they are focusing more on big opening day sales yet over making copies of the game so the prices drop so quick. Look at Mass Effect 2. Amazing game that got perfect 10 reviews everywhere yet within 6 months of release I'm seeing new copies go for 20 bucks. Took even less time for Splinter Cell Conviction (something I capitalized on).

Looks like this won't be another Cod4 where it stayed 60 bucks most places for well over two years!
 
I'm guessing the Legendary edition will be on sale in the $100 area during Xmas and down to the $70-$80 area by March. There are just way to many of them out there for them to hold any kind of value.

The Best Buy I frequent has a mountain of these things sitting in the middle of media department.
 
Man I love the laws of supply and demand. And I don't anticipate any government take over in the gaming industry anytime soon!
 
Well a big draw for the LE is the flaming helmet. A week ago the dlc codes were selling on ebay for 90 bucks but now i'm seeing em go for the lower 60s. And anyone who is buying the code is not going to buy the LE meaning less demand on that meaning lower prices for me. Kinda a boring few days at the job so I've been watching ebay like it's the freakin stock market.

By the way if you want the Recon helmet, they're selling for less than 2.50 now, week ago they were hitting ten bucks. :eek:
