Harvest Moon Tree of Peace!

Scrubking

CAGiversary!
Well it looks like Harvest Moon has finally taken some sort of significant step forward in the series, and I can only hope that it really delivers. The new Jp trailer is out and it shows a bunch of cool stuff and new animals like frogs, bears, ostriches, monkeys and ducks. There are also new minigames like whack-a-mole, rock skipping, bug shooting and frog jumping. It also looks like you can customize your clothes and home a lot more now.

From what I've seen this is the most feature rich HM game to date, and I can't wait till it comes over here.

Harvest Moons are great kick back and relax games. I was just looking at the screens. I LOVE how the rules of HM dating = this bitch likes apples, bring her 9 apples and you will have a baby next season.

That was Rune Factory for DS, I don't think it made it over from Japan. Still might though. Theres also a Futuristic HM for PSP. This ones called Heroes but I didn't see any fighting.

I just thougt it was funny because a step forward involves "whack-a-mole".

Rune Factory is actually scheduled to come out sometime soon. But yeah, Rune Factor is the fighting/catch em' all/farming game, and it looks awesome.

This Harvest Moon looks like a good old harvest moon game, not that thats a bad thing. I can't wait. The trailer was so happy.. made me happy. Haha... It looks good too.
They need to just come out with a mmo harvest moon. Like animal crossing meets harvest moon.
That's actually a really good idea. I'd buy it.

Impressions from the Japanese version:

Got the game today and played about 3-4 hours. I will give a brief impression and answer some questions later if i have time. First thought, at first i thought the camera was too close to the character so its hard to see around town, but later i found out i can rotate the camera by pointing the wiimote on the TV screen. So it makes that problem go away so what. 2nd, the loading time can get a bit long ( ~10 secs ) at times from screen to screen. 3rd. There are a lot to customize in this game. From house design, buy different land, build different house, different cloth, stuff to buy for the home, animal house, bird house.. are just some I have ran into the first few hours. Control. I was surprise by how nice the control feels. actions like fishing and watering plants can be done simply by lifting the wiimote up and down slowly. For people who do not want to play that way, they just simply press A for the same actions. Generally the control feels great. Farming-wise.. at first its really FAST to waste all ur energy by simply watering 5-7 plants. But as your character experience increase that number also increase. I can already water 3-square at a time. So i think farming will be a lot easier with more playing time. Plus you are not given much land to work with in the first place, so its ok. Land has good or bad, and therefore the plants you grow out of them have different quality too. Dating wise... this game has a function where you can lock onto a single character so you can know where he/she is at all times. . I thought that was pretty neat. I have been trying to be-friend wild animals to get them as pet. But no luck so far. I might need a animal house first, but not sure.

else.

-- the town is broken off into probably .. 7-8 sections. Hence the loading time from section to section can be a bit long sometimes. Not all the areas are open for explore at the start of the game.

-- According to the status page, you can have 8 animals as farm animals. I duno how many you can have as pet. I have only seen cat, dog, and turtle so far. I am assuming I have to build the chicken house and animal house first, before chicken, cow, horse and such show up. So don't know how fast horse is yet.

-- No lag so far. The pace is pretty good too me.

--- speech .. i havnt been paying attention, i can get back to you on that. But there are a lot of times where you can pick an answer to answer. So its less repetitive that way, i suppose

-- yes, you can just use A on wiimote, you can also use the classic controller, but i don have one so i didnt try it.

-- my stamina hasnt increased yet and i duno if it will or not. You have tool experience simliar to HM: Back to Nature. So the more you use a tool the more experience you get from it the less stamina it takes to use the tool. Also when your tool experience "level up" you can start like watering 3 square at a time, etc.... Hope this makes sense ^^

-- 6 seeds per bag, straight line, not 3x3 like old HMs

-- land is messed up, but small land, so not a problem. There is option to buy more land later

-- I heard you can get wild animals, but i havnt got one yet so cant confirm.

-- go to menu and you can see a list of characters in town and how they feel about you, there you can choose to lock-on one character, and on the main screen you will see that character icon on the bottom left corner, it will show where the character is. You can lock on to any human, but not wild animals.

-- I am at day .19, fall, first year.

--- dont want to list the buildings,,, but there is a church

-- you can pick 1 out 3 places to live at the start, but you have the option to buy lands, so later you can have all three and more. I havnt had enough money to mess with the other customizing options. So more on that later.

-- So far I am just trick to this island and started working, not saving anything yet.

-- ahh . by 8 animals i meant 8 DIFFERENT animals. How many can you have total, I dont know yet

time does not stop in buildings

Magic Melody change my mind on all Harvest Moon games, I will probably pick this one up after a price drop (thinks of HM 64 and smiles).

Dude, that shit works in real life....Only instead of bringing her piles apples and flowers, you offer lots of precious metals and denial of your true self.

It's easy!
