I'm feeling a bit nostalgic today and, after playing around a bit with my brothers copy of Animal Crossing, want to pick up a Harvest Moon game. Thing is, I don't espically want one that sucks. I'm pretty impartial to the system its on (got a PS2, Gamecube, and GBA). Any recommendations?

Or should I just replay HM64 again? :p
 
Honestly, the only bad one is the Save the Homeland. Every other incarnation of Harvest Moon I've played has been decent at worst.

I reccomend trying out the psone version (which is very similar to the n64 version) and 'It's a wonderful Life' for the Gamecube.


Friends of Mineral Town (GBA)retails at $19.99 new and it's also worth looking into.
 
So far, I've put the most time into the Friends of Mineral Town for GBA. I wasn't all that impressed with the GC one. I felt like a lot was sacrificed for better graphics.

So it pretty much comes down to this... if you want something similar to the N64 version then get FoMT. If you want something different but still Harvest Moon then get A Wonderful Life.
 
If you can hold out for a few months get It's a wonderful Life Special Edition on PS2. It is a port of the Gamecube version with more stuff.
 
If you really feel like being fancy and fun, wait until July when "Another Wonderful Life" comes out for GameCube. It's the same thing as "It's a Wonderful Life"..except you're a girl farmer. :D I have "It's a Wonderful Life" and it's really a wonderful game. I'm actually going to be crazy and get "Another Wonderful Life", just for the hell of it :) Anyone else doing that too???

I'm doing it with the GBA version... the whole dynamic of the game would be different playing as a female farmer, espically the whole marriage aspect.

I'm glad they changed the name to someone non gender specific also.. I think in Japan it was called "Harvest Moon For Girls" or something like that =X

I'm buying "Another Wonderful Life" for my girlfriend, but you can be sure I'll play it too.
