Hello fellow CAG'ers

If you have a Hastings store near you, you are in luck!

Monday night is 30% off used games (10pm to midnight)

PLUS

They have a Buy 2 Get 1 for $1 sale all week for used games

These 2 sales DO stack and is a great deal.

Usually prices in the store arent that great, but with the combination of sales, its awesome.

Myself, I will be going Monday after work, scouting games and prices, then getting quotes from gazelle, then heading back to Hastings at 10pm

Last sale I made around a $150 profit :D

wow thanks for the heads up.

Pretty sweet. Makes me wish I had a Hastings around here. I think I have only seen one Hastings in my entire life. I don't remember what state I was in at the time, but I stopped in and it was pretty marvelous.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll be going there to pick up some games to actually play.
right on!

If the two sales actually stack I'll probably pick up some stuff. I can see it not working out for me though, there's a pesky manager that always seems to ruin my day there. Also, the prices at my store are terrible on used games. Games that are $20 - $40 NEW are marked $45 - $55 used typically at my store.

Also, at my store it seems like they manually type in all prices when they scan an item. In the past I have asked an employee at the information desk to check their inventory for a game as well as the price, and the computer listed the game at $12.99. I take the game to the register and the employee types in $24.99 because that is what the sticker says on the game. I informed the employee of the $12.99 price, and they changed it no questions asked. Anyone else have issues like that?

Yeah, the used prices usually suck, but the 30% off makes it in-line with the usual stuff.

Should be a fun shopping night. Last time an employee walked around with me for around 30 minutes. :D

They do actually stack, the manager cant say no to it. Both sales are in the circular (just to make sure, check online, but it should be national).

If anyone goes in the afternoon for prices and then checks Gazelle, lets share what games we find that are good to flip.

Hastings power!

Are the prices in store the same as it is online at gohastings.com ? What about the inventory checking, is it reliable?

No. The in-store prices for items are usually higher than what is online and they always seem to be months behind on "across-the-board" price drops for games.

You just have to go in and see what you can find.

Yup, what sadakou said is correct

IF the store prices did match online...wowowow.

I made my shopping list to check prices already so i can stop and get prices on the way home :D

I have a Hastings and I still won't go. Their used prices are 30% higher than I can find the games anywhere else anyway, so, no savings really.
Called my store they said they don't think it will stack. Is this deal automatic?
I know last time this happened the 30% happened automatically, but I had to remind the cashier about the B2G1 and he punched in something to get the B2G1 to ring up right.

Do u have to tell them anything in particular because my Hastings told me that they weren't running 30% off special for the used games.

You have to tell them the secret password at checkout.

Good one. But when I asked them about this special they just looked at me like I was stupid.
I even called another store and asked but all they said was something about Madden coming out. And that was it.

You can't trust the employees on the phone to know every deal every week for every type of media being sold there (especially when most of them act like they don't even want to be there).

Just walk in, grab the ad that they keep stacks of near the front doors, and show them both deals in print at the checkout.

That is how I was able to get ModNation Racers PS3 for 39.99 when their ad showed it at that price but it rang up 59.99.

EDIT: Especially since this sale is time sensitive (10pm through midnight only).

I agree. Sometimes you have to take personal action and not depend on others.

BTW, Anybody got good potential flips?

I don't know if I can walk out with a 10 copies of MW2.

okay, again, the discount is automatic. There's nothing for anyone to scan.

Didn't pick up anything game related but I was able to grab Kick-Ass on Blu Ray for $13.99 ($19.99 - 30% = $13.99)

Thanks OP for posting this deal. Cleaned up my store, for sure. Which was great... since they only had about a dozen customers between 10-12... most of which purchased movies and books.

Oh... you can :) I only used MW2 as a filler... but it was definitely a worthwhile pick-up for me since they charge the same for the steelbook as the standard edition and I was in dire need of the fillers by the end of the night. I just wish I had more cash on hand to pick up some more stuff :(

It's amazing how much stuff was mismarked.

My hastings didnt have the buy 2 get 1 for 1. I even asked and went through the add, it was only for used dvds. Still got mint metal gear 4 for 18 and mint demon souls for 25.
