--------------EDIT 1/24---------------
Well, after an email threatning to file a Non-paying bidder report last night, I recieved payment within a few hours. Odd, aint it? Anyway, I'm happy I got payment but now there's another item that the buyer hasn't responded to emails. Hopefully it works out better.
------------------------------------------

Well, I recently sold my Ace Combat 6 Fires of Liberation on eBay for $35.00. Decent pickup for me as I got the game for much cheaper. Anyway, I give the winners of my auctions 5 days to pay (PayPal only). The auction was won last week on Friday. I sent him his invoice and at least 2 other messages about him winning the auction, yadda yadda yadda. I have had no response and don't think I will.

His feedback is decent. I'm planning to give him till Saturday just so he can have the benefit of the doubt. I honestly don't want to file anything. I may also be having a similar issue with another item I sold.

I think I'm gunna start sticking to Buy It Now auctions. ARRRGH!

Yep, and then they have 7 additional days to pay before you can close out the NPB and get your final value fee credited back.

So it's not like it's going to slam the buyer immediately when you file the NPB. They'll have time to see the message from eBay and if they want to avoid the strike they can pay you.

But waiting until Saturday to file would be over 7 days, so that'll work.

In my experience buyers that don't respond to any of your contact before filing the NPB don't respond to the NPB complaint either.

Thanks for the information. I'll wait till then I guess. He hasn't responded to anything. I guess I will have to file. I may even a lot more time, if I'm in the mood. Not cool. Don't understand why people would bid and not pay..it confuses me!

I have the same problem now, first one in awhile atleast. (I must have been lucky.) The guy has 700 feedback, and bid on my dvd lot 5-6 times during the 5 day auction time.

I don't really want to waste the time with relisting, so I tried the second chance offer to a guy who was just 1.00 under it. If that ebayer isn't still interested .. I guess I will have to reslit.

Try the second chance offer if you can, if the bid isn't too low under what it sold for.

I do agree, it fucking sucks.

I can appreciate that people might get busy and all. Although I believe if you're going to bid, you should be responsible enough to follow up if you win.

Its my experience that if you file a NPB, they either don't contact back and you 'win', as mentioned already. Or they realize you're serious and they pay up.

With a second chance offer everything is exactly the same a the first purchase.

I am filing a NPB on the original purchase. So to awnser your question; yes with the original purchase or the second chance offer, either is like a normal sale on eBay. (feedback etc.)

i had a few of those the other week. i got one that paid this week im got a strong feeling they are going to get the item and then try to do a chargeback.

i stuck an orcs and elves sytlus up on ebay with an offer of 40 or best offer just to see if anyone would bite

some one won it with an offer of 35 bucks.

again this is just for the sytlus and not the game... remember these with the game sold in walmarts for 20 sealed. it will be interesting to see what happens. I got Delivery confirm + insurance on it just in case she tries to pull something.

I have the ame problem as the OP, auction closed last Friday and no contact/ no pay from the winning bidder. How long did you wait before doing the second chance offer? I will certianly file a NPB on Friday when my 7 days is up but just wondering, do you have to wait that long to offer the second chance or can you do it before?

I had a guy do this to me a couple weeks ago. I found a disc only copy of Lumnies at Blockbuster for $9.99. I bought it with some of my credit and decided to throw it up on eBay to see what would happen. Some jackass won it for $20 but never paid for it. He never responded to any of my e-mails and didn't respond to my NPB alert. It took 14 days but I got my fees back.

Worked out in the long run b/c my relisting went for $31!

I checked the other auctions the guy bid on and he won an auction for the same thing. If you're bidding on something pay attention. If you don't intend on paying don't bid!

I have some bad luck with NPB. I would say one out of every 7 or 8 auctions something goes wrong, and I get a lot of excuses. Sometimes they just don't pay up. I've been told 3 or 4 different times that their "kid" accidentally bid on it. Other times they don't read the auction and don't realize I only accept paypal. I've also just had people say that they bid on the wrong item. I don't get how it happens, you have to confirm your bid. It's really annoying though mainly because of the extra few days it will take me to do another auction.

I also hate when they take like 3 or 4 days to send payment and then email you 12 hours after they paid asking if you have shipped it yet.

I decided that I would file the report Saturday night. Also, I'll give him the amount the NPB report takes so he can pay, if not then I'll get my fees and relist. I'm pretty sure I can get more for the auction too.

IT's a hassle but hey. I'm also on the verge with another buyer, won monday but hasn't responded to any emails.

I have noticed that many people do not read the Seller's payment instructions as I clearly state in mine to contact the seller before making payments. I just had someone send a payment to my non-Credit Card Paypal account and I do not plan to upgrade my second account to accept credit cards. It seems Paypal no longer allows you to deny payments for mistakes so I guess I will have to give Paypal a call as I have no plans to claim the money since I do not need 2 Paypal accounts that accept Credit Cards.

It seems Paypal and Ebay are getting greedier everyday and not making it easy for sellers.

I completely agree. I may have to start selling elsewhere, but it is hard to find places to sell your stuff other than eBay. CL is good, but too many no-shows.

I've had good luck with selling on amazon. They take a higher cut on the final sale price but there's no listing fees so if your item doesn't sell you're not out anything.

Owen - I don't think PayPal or eBay is going to work with you on that one. If you had the PayPal logo on your listing (the one that includes credit card logos) and the buyer paid to the PP address you linked to the listing they are probably going to say you need to upgrade that account. But hey, give it a shot I guess it couldn't hurt.

Technically if you are going to do the NPB thing you should hold the item back until the process is completed. eBay won't prevent you from making a 2nd chance offer as you could have multiples of the item you sold but if you do that and the original buyer ends up eventually paying you are going to have to refund their payment.

Recieved payment this morning. Thanks for all the advnice. I may be looking at Amazon. I've seen something that you can get paid with Amazon gift cards, how do i set that up?

you dont need to frikin make a thread over a NPB, it happens quite frequently, its not a big deal

its not like you are being scammed or anything..

Calm down. It was the first time for me and I felt that I needed some advice. If you don't have any helpful input, why post? Relax, you're the only person to act like an asshole towards the topic. Everyone else was helpful.
