HD or SD?

Chuckles

CAGiversary!
I read that the 360 has a selector switch for HD or SD and I was wondering : Which would I use for an EDTV?

It's only 480p, so it's not true HD, but I read that it was still part of the HD standard. I know that in any case the 360 will be downconverting from 720p, but I wasn't sure which option I would need to select. Anyone know for sure?
Just a question, what was the purpose of any companies ever making ED tvs?
It was the first digital TV, before the standards were established. The purpose is that it's digital, supports 16:9 and is higer quality than SD. It's not part of the official ATSC standards though.

Actually it's a huge difference. Progressive scan DVD players were expensive and in demand in the very late 90's. And it's widescreen as well so anamorphic DVDs look fantastic.

480p is a noticable difference over 480i and they came out when HDtvs were unaffordable to most

Yes. Playing games in 480p instead of SD is great lol. At first I expected little difference, but it's definitely there.
