I got a wired 360 controller to play Call of Duty 2 for PC. After downloading the software for the controller I am still unable to use it for the game. I have never used a PC controller so I am a little lost. The control is calibrated and Windows XP is reading the control. What can I do to get the controller to work in Call of Duty 2?
I was at CC yesterday and saw that they have two wired 360 controls one in a red pack that is"FOR Windows" and the Green packed one I got , that tell in the instructions will work for windows is there a diiference or will they both work on Window XP?

Both will work. By not getting the "for windows" red package, you didn't get a CD with the driver and you saved yourself $5 too. A wired 360 controller is the same regardless of which package it comes in. Blame MS for creating a mess in the market with moves like this.

has anyone got the D-Pad to work on a PC? I can use the analog sticks but not the d-pad...

yes. Mine worked with halo when I tried it out (had the flashlight and action keys mapped to up and down on the D-pad). The button that does not work for me is the media button (xbox logo button).

OP is there some kind of joystick setting or anything of that nature in the options? that is what I would look for if I were you (I don't have CoD2 so I can't be of much help, but a lot of games have something akin to this)

There is nothing in the options menu for COD 2. So all I can figure is that the game does not support the control, which is very strange with COD 2 being available on the 360. I just assumed that it would work no problems.
