CAGiversary!
Hey fellow CAGs,

I'm about to ask my gf to marry me in about two months. I've been racking my brain over the decision of what to buy for her and have narrowed it down to a few. I'm taking votes on which one everyone likes best and need a few more votes to break up the ones that are tied.

If anyone is interested, please give me your honest opinion on which ring you like best. To be honest, she would love any of these rings; I am just going crazy. I just want to make sure I get the best in my price range. If anyone else knows of any amazing deals, feel free to let me know as well!

Thanks guys.

where do you live? IMO GO TO A PAWN SHOP!!! You'll find a ring that's twice the size for the same price. She will never know where you got it from and she'll be happy its BIGGER, trust me!

I would say something not with a diamond as the focal point. Diamonds aren't even rare stones. The diamond cartel just manages supply to prop up the prices.

You should save your money and go to Zales or some place like it so you can get a whole set for less than what all those costs. That way you won't have to worry.

I don't have any advice, but something comical concerning wedding rings. In downtown Hagerstown (MD), there's a pawn shop type store. On the sign out front, they claim to sell wedding rings AND shotguns. Talk about a shotgun wedding?

If you want to go the super personal route, there are ring makers on Etsy. I did a drawing of what I wanted and they made it. Choose the material, gems etc... much more personal than mass produced rings.

heres what I used... http://www.wexfordjewelers.com/ and they have an etsy as well.

Congrats man! Good luck!

I'm in this same situation myself. Have you asked her what she wants, style wise?

I plan on buying from a local jeweler personally.

Yeah, I know exactly what she likes and everything I've picked out meets her style. We've been together for four years and I've collected plenty of data from those years. I've been to countless local jewelers and haven't had tons of luck picking something perfect for her.
out of those i'd choose #1
That's the ring I've been leaning towards most and most likely to choose so far.

Please please please consider buying one second hand. The markup on these things is ridic. I bought one for almost 4k and ended up splitting 5 months later and could only get about 1/3 what I paid for it in the open market. (The jewelry buying places only wanted to give me a few hundo for it)

But with the economy sucking and situations where dudes like me just ended up getting shafted and need to move a perfectly fine ring, there are cheap options. Check out idonowidont.com. I listed mine on there before I worked out a deal with someone else but I liked what I saw.

I've got a few replies to go to a Pawn Shop and check out second hand rings. I'm gonna try that this weekend before I pick one of the Amazon ones. Thanks guys!
