Help finding a turntable

So I'm looking for a new turntable, but don't know how to look. :/ My old one I just grabbed from a garage sale (cheap one), but now I"m looking for something a bit better. I don't have many records, but I do really enjoy listening to the ones I have, and I want to start buying more. So, if there are any audiophiles out there, would you mind giving me a few tips? I'm not looking for a deal, I'm looking for a good turntable. Ideally, under $300, but I'll go more if I need.
