HELP! How to bring 360 account to Xbox One

Hey CAG's, 

I had an account on my 360 but I had never had an xbox live account so it was never official. However, Im setting up my xbox one and I have internet. Is there a way to bring my information to the xbox one? 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is the Gamertag registered under an Email account? If not are you able to register it if you go to settings? In order to move a Gamertag to the Xbox One you would need to enter the email it's associated with.

How could you have an account but not have an XBL account? All free accounts are xbox live silver accounts meaning you should have an email address and password associated with it. Therefore you shouldn't have any issues moving to the Xbox One. Its pretty much automatic

If your profile was an offline profile (ie not XBox Live Gold or Silver), you can "upgrade" your offline profile to a Live profile on your 360. You'll probably have to change your name if it has already been taken online. Then you can use he same email info from when you upgraded to Live to download your profile to you Xbone. Should only take a few minutes.
