so about 2 months ago i sign for this sony credit card and i didn't read the condition for this card's promotion clearly before i sign up.
i was going to spend the first purchase somewhere else in order to get my $150 credit. but after i got my card i went back to the site and found out that in order to get my credit i need to spend it only on sonystyle store.

so i am stock on sonystyle, oh well i need a 5.1 surround system speaker anyway. but i have no clue what to get.

but here is what i have right now
a 40 inch lcd sony xbr
a ps3 from sony
(i am a big sony fan)
a yamaha digital piano p80

i mainly used my tv for gaming and that is about it.

is there a good speaker that is good for both "gaming and my piano". thanks.

this one seem to be just the right price at 299.99(the amount i need to spend in order to get my credit

also do i need to buy a receiver or something like that in order for the tv to output the sound?

Your best bet is to get a refurbed 5.1 system from Onkyo... not sure what you can get for $300... most likely something decent, but not amazing or anything.

Yeah, that's just a speaker set so you'll have to buy a receiver on top of that. Otherwise they'll just be speakers with no way of outputting sound through them unless your TV has speaker outputs built-in.

HTIB is Home Theater In A Box, which is an all in one purchase solution that has all the speakers and receiver in a box.

BTW, the original link you had in the OP for the speaker set already has a subwoofer. I suggest you spend the minimum amount you have to at the SonyStyle store to get your credit and then search for whatever else you didn't get (speaker set or receiver) elsewhere, as their stuff there is woefully overpriced.
A subwoofer is mos def needed. It wouldn't be a 5.1 or 7.1 SS without it ;)

What you need to do is stop looking at Sony Stuff. Get yourself a Denon, Onkyo, or Yamaha.
I'll throw Pioneer's name into the hat as well. That's tops for me in this price range.
