Help with USB ports

007

CAGiversary!
Ok, I'm trying to use the Codebreaker to transfer some FPR saves. Slight problem with that, however.

My PS2 will not read USB flash drives.

I've tried two at this point, a RIDATA 128mb and a Sandisk 2gig... plugging the 128mb one into the PS2 effectively killed it, and, while at least not killing it, wouldn't recognize the 2gig at all. It's in there, it's lit up, but the Codebreaker menu keeps telling me that there's no USB drive plugged in.

So, what's the solution here? I've searched around, found no answers, so I came here. Surely people have used the Codebreaker to do this, so I'm hoping someone can give me some guidance.

Any and all help appreciated.

Thanks!

If your (slim) PS2 has a model number of SCPH-75001 or higher, then CodeBreaker will be unable to read the USB ports.

Nope, it's not a slim. Fatty that I bought the April after launch.

After some more digging, I'm just going to have to try someone else's falshdrives... the only thing I can think of is that I managed to acquire not one, but two, incompatible flash drives. Everything lights up, so I'm thinking it has to be that... unless my PS2 is extraordinarly wonky.
