Rutgers Player Sues Imus, CBS Radio
By COLLEEN LONG 08.15.07, 8:21 AM ET

NEW YORK - A member of the Rutgers women's basketball team has sued Don Imus and CBS, claiming the radio personality's sexist and racist comments about the team damaged her reputation.
Kia Vaughn filed the lawsuit alleging slander and defamation of character in state Supreme Court in the Bronx Tuesday, the same day Imus settled with CBS (nyse: CBS - news - people ) Radio in a deal that pre-empts his threatened $120 million breach-of-contract lawsuit against CBS. The settlement allows him to make a comeback bid at a new station.

If a reputation is damaged that easily by a simple phrase, I wonder if it was worth thousands in the first place...

I couldn't recognize any of the players on the "second-best women's college basketball team of 2007" before Imus said what he said.

Now that he did, I still can't recognize any players on the "second-best women's college basketball team of 2007 that Don Imus called nappy headed hos".

I suspect the VAST majority of the country is in the same boat as I.

As far as the actual suit is concerned, $120 million in damages assumes one was famous enough to earn $120 million based on one's reputation/celebrity to begin with. Since it's exceedingly unlikely the star player of the team that actually DID win the championship will make even a small fraction of that by trading on her "celebrity", this case is far beyond frivolous.

Absolutely. Even if this woman plays in the WNBA, she wouldn't even make $120 million in 120 years. She needs to move on with her life of ho-in and being nappy headed.

I'm going to sue that black kid that called me a 'cracker' a few months ago. Hopefully I'll be able to get at least 25 million.

BTW - It's not Imus's fault she's nappy headed. :nottalking:

Once in middle school an old nemesis of mine called me a "fag" and a "cock-goblin." His hateful words have caused irreparable damage to my self-image, sending me into a spiraling trend of self-destruction and depression that affects my way of life to this day. But, you know, I think I'd cheer up a little bit if the court made him give me 10 million dollars.

I was once called a cock-goblin, however, I was in a different situation and the outcome was pretty hot. That story would be apart of another thread though.

10 Million? Cock-goblin is way worse than nappy headed hoe, you could get at least 130 million.

BTW - Cock-goblin is pretty funny, I'm going to start using that.

I've been called a cock-goblin before, but the court through my case out on the grounds that I was not a cock, nor a goblin. Possession may be 9/10ths of the law, but it certainly failed here.

Now, in the case of the nappy headed hos, well, nappy is certainly just an observation, no case there...But you'd have to be quite a filthy ho-bag to get $120 million for it.

All sarcasm aside, fucking get over yourselves. Last time I checked, a woman demanding money for doing nothing was a ho.

A "ho" works hard for the money, what you are describing is an "ex-wife"
