How can I play Us games on my Super Famicom?

DangerDave

CAGiversary!
Does the Game Genie work as a converter for the Super Famicom? Or does it only work with the Super Nintendo?

Does anyone know of any converters that don't require a game to stick out the back? The only converters I've seen are these-

Does anyone know if a NTSC to Pal converter work for me? Or will the hertz be set to 60 or something?

Any info would be great, I really don't want to hack up my mint condish Famicom. (I just got it in the mail from eBay.)

I don't know if it will work or not but I heard that a pro action replay can play super famicom games so maybe it can be able to play us games.

pretty sure ages ago, Mustang O line said you can take a pair of pliers and pull out the notches inside the system, which would allow you to play imports.

not 100 percent sure on this as I have not done it myself

A Game Geine works I believe. Its been awhile, but I know that its a physical lockout on the SNES, not a software one. Just like the NES and N64.

Yes that is 100% true. I did it with my system. I'm not sure about the SFAM though. I should have purchased one when I lived in Japan.

I thought the SFAM could play SNES games without doing anything?

That's my assumption as well. The OP seems to say that's not the case.

Those tabs you guys are talking about are on the US SNES. The Jap Super Famicom has a smaller hole, so square shaped games (US) will not physically fit without modding the system.
dhrez, were did you get that? Thats exactly what I need!

What I need is an adapter that lets me play domestic (US) games. I bought a Super Famicom because I think the Super Nintendo is the ugliest system ever made.

Check out this site (down at the bottom) -

Thats what you have to do if you don't use an adapter!

My girlfriend wanted we to sell her SNES stuff for her and that was in the box. She says some guy gave it to her a long time ago so really I don't know where it came from.
