How Cheap Can You Be?

False Hope

CAGiversary!
I recently got an extra stash of cash, and some of it was begging to be spent, so I connected and went to EBGames.com to see what I could get spending no more than $60 and was surprised at how cheap some of the games were. I sifted through their stash for a while (mostly PS2 games) and was pretty surprised at how many combinations of good games I could get for so cheap. I don't know if a thread of this type has been created yet, but I'm interested in seeing more, so if you can come up with a decent amount of good games (at least four) for under or at $60, then it'd be great if you posted them here.

NOTE: My combinations didn't include the use of the EB Edge Card, or any of the special codes, so only use them if you must. Also, I'm not asking this as a request for cheap combos of games for myself, I'm just interested to see if anyone could come up with more.

I like the idea. They day the new greatest hits showed up on EB for 17.99. I got Sly 2, Jak 3, R&C:UYA and the E3 dvd for $59.83 all a/c even though you said not coupons.

There's a ton of $2.99-$4.99 games at my local GameStops & EBGs. (PS2) Max Payne, NBA Street, GTA:3, MGS:2 (I bought one myself for $2.99), Airblade, Twisted Metal:Black (IIRC), ANY older Sports titles, Dave Mirra 2, and many more...

were you asking about newer games, or ANY games?

Check out my topic here, 25 games under $10 each (many under $5).

Where can you find any of these games for those prices?

Ah, didn't see the "Shopping Discussions" thing. Thanks for the move whoever happened to do it.

I was kinda wondering that, too. As soon as I saw Onimusha 3 for $7, I remembered that I bought it recently from Rhino's for $16.99. I'm wondering if I got screwed that bad?
Unlimited SaGa is not worth $3.
ROFL. But then again, it isn't. Actually, that's a bit of an understatement. Do you pay $3 for it, or do they pay you $3 to take it? If they're paying you, I'd demand at least $5.

Anyway, glad to see people have actually responded. So far there've been some interesting combinations, though I question the genuinity of some.

Oh, and:
were you asking about newer games, or ANY games?
Any games as long as they don't totally suck. Obviously Unlimited Saga doesn't fit that quota, but....

Hmm.... 60 bucks. Here's what I'd get. All done on EBGames's site.

PS2

Silent Hill 2 7.99
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution 7.99
FreQuency 7.99
Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero 4.99
Front Mission 4 9.99
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 7.99
Zone of the Enders 4.99
Onimusha 2 7.99

End total: 59.92, before shipping. Assuming you use SAVER/CAG16/Edge, it'd be 44.35 That's a lot of gaming for 45 bucks, with stuff from most genres, and a lot of genre-defining AAA titles.
You could get a shitload of great/good games at ebgames.com with all the coupon codes.
Yeah, but that's out of the rules for this little game that's been set up :)

To answer your Topic Title's Question, How Cheap can I be?

I've had two meals today. Both involved one cup of ramen and one egg.

I cant wait to get cancer.

My TRU has quite a few Onimusha 3 greentagged at $15, so they're $7.50 right now. I suppose I'll pick one up for $4.50 once the 70% hits. So yeah, you got mildly screwed.

Well, in that case: take Airblade off the list, too :)

Any list without Devil May Cry: Shame on you

Devil May Cry - $5.99 @ EB B&M
Maximo: Ghosts to Glory - $5.99 @ gamestop
Mechassault 1: $5.99 @ gamestop
Final Fantasy X - $9.99 @ EB
Buffy The Vampire Slayer - $9.99 @ EB
Metroid Prime: $4.99
Metal Gear Solid 2: $4.99
Sega GT 2002 & JSRF pack - $2.99

$41 and that's before edge card. I'd probably end up throwing on Skies of Arcadia or some other RPG with the rest of the $.

That's a very nice combination. Especially with ZoE in there (personal favorite).

If this was about general cheapness, you'd be second only to my friend, whose meal involved half a cup of ramen (spilled the last half) and Dorito flavored crackers.

Even if you do, it'll be okay. Because no one ever dies from cancer....right? Besides, PS3 will cure it.

Again, another nice one. Really like the DMC and the JSRF. I could live without FFX, but then again, it's not about me. :)

Eh, it was one good 60 hour play since it had a good story, battle system & experience system IMO. Way too easy to replay for quite a while, though.

Hardly cheap. Thats gourmet for me.

A TRUE cheapass meal.

One cup over the course of the entire day.
No egg, salt, pepper or any other flavorings.
Cold with water stolen from my neighbors hose.

I like this thread, but it is odd because I buy on a "need" basis more so than just getting a deal. Plus, I'm so cheap that I would never force myself to spend $60 at once but would instead place several orders based on whim. Since shipping is free anyway why not spread it out. But I want to play along, so I reviewed old orders to come up with:

$30 on some games I recently got for $7.50 each after codes
Rayman 3 Xbox
I-Ninja Xbox
Manhunt Xbox
Escape Monkey Island PS2

fewer better games
Then $15 each new:
Metroid Prime 2
Zelda Four Swords

or
Burnout 3 for $13.50
Killzone for $13.50

or more crappier games
$30 on these
Aqua Aqua $4
Serious Sam PS2 $4
Warjetz $2.5
Konami Arcade $4 GBA
Out of this World $1.5 SNES
Getaway $5 new PS2
Hobbit $5 new Xbox
Bloodrayne $3 GC

A couple notes:
You can't get some of these deals . . . the new games were clearance, Out of this World $1.99 bc! is instock about once a month and sells within minutes of the morning update. Bloodrayne went up in price.

Also, since I'm a flipper abusing their tradein deals, my $60 came from $30 cash (or the whole $120ish above from $60 out of pocket). The best purchases were I-Ninja and Rayman 3 because I traded in my GC and PS2 versions respectively for $13.33 each in credit during the PSP game deal in March . . . so I got "paid" over $5 each to upgrade to the Xbox versions.
