I recently rented 9 from Amazon. The rental was supposed to cost 3.99, but I had a 5.00 promotional credit balance so I figured that it would be free. Unfortunately, they still charged my card. I didn't it let it phase me though, I assumed that I had mis-clicked something.

Just now, however, I was looking to rent The Hurt Locker. I had another 5 dollar VoD credit so I decided to apply that to my account. After using the code, it told me I had a balance of $10.00 in credit. I did not, however, see a link to pay using my credit.

If I click on Rent in 1-click, it automatically charges my card instead of using my credit. Anyone know how to hell to use this stuff?

Mine always deducted from credit first. What about changing your credit card info, so that it can't be charged?

It's telling me that I have a balance of 10 dollars.

Also, I did change my CC info but it simply won't process the transaction. It's a real head-scratcher.

Sometimes the promo codes only work on certain items. You can probably call and get your money back and get clarification on what you can use the credit on.

Some of the VOD credit promotions are specific on the types of items they're valid for.

Most of the ones they've done recently were only for NBC items only. You should check the email you received with the code and see if there's anything in there that would explain it.
