How do I turn cash into money in my Paypal account?

I've got a wad of cash that I've been saving for about a year and a half at work - just putting loose change, small bills, etc. into a jar. At last count I was just over $1,000 and that was my goal from the start before I decided to buy something nice with it. Christmas is coming and I am thinking of buying my wife something sort of expensive - she won't be expecting it and since we set limits on spending it will really surprise her. Anyway, is there a way to put money in my Paypal account without going through my bank so I can order something online? If I deposit the money into my bank account and transfer it to Paypal the jig will be up once the statement comes in. Any ideas?

Get someone reliable to 'launder' the money for you through their bank account and send it to your PayPal account?

Other than that I really don't think there is a way to do that.
go buy one of those prepaid credit cards wit the cash and use that card with your paypal account?
Hmmm... that sounds like a good idea. So if I buy a prepaid credit card I can transfer the funds to my paypal account somehow?

The only way to get money into your PP account is to either receive it from someone else or to withdraw it from a bank account. What you could do is use that as a credit card via PayPal, but only up to whatever you have in it.

But why do you need PayPal? If you get a prepaid credit card, you can use it anywhere you want. It works almost like a debit card. The only other option is launder it as someone previously mentioned.

Yes, the best way is with a prepaid credit card. They basically work like debit cards when you enter them into your PayPal account (or as Vinny said, you can use em anywhere). Around here, we have a Simon associated mall, and they offer these prepaid credit cards as gift cards. If you happen to have a Simon mall around you, you can buy one there (check this link out to search for a Simon mall around you - http://www.simon.com/giftcard/ ).

The only companies I can think of that offer these cards are Visa and American Express.

Well I would then to avcoid her seeing it just make a new account at another bank and then move the money. When the money is finished moving clse the account.

Like a One Dollar limit checking account. Is the bank going to report to your wife that you made another account. Also does she use the Paypal account?
Persoanlly just go to a bank, your bank, or whatever bank account and transfer it to your account. Also consider storing some of your money in a bank with high intrest paypback.

If you use a prepaid card the bank is borrowing money from you until you transfer it. You already have one bank account which is borrowing money from you so just use it.

Again when transfering money form a credit card or making a payment to your account Paypal will charge a certain precent like with all payments.

So a better question is there a way to move money into your paypal acount avoiding the charge?

Also how will the money be dsiplayed in the account when using a prepaid credit card?

How are you going to get the money in the account using a prepaid credit card at the same time avoiding the charge.
Ummmm... wtf? Everything you said completely disregards the OP's request (so that the wife doesn't see the statement). How 'bout you think before you post and then when you're done typing, run it through a spell and grammar check.

Do you have a relative that you could trust that has a paypal account (such as a sibling or something), maybe you could have him/her transfer you money if you give them the money, kind of weird but it's a possibility. :)

I think the best deal(if you dont care about the charge they stick you with when you buy it) would be the pre paid card. That way you arent limited to vendors that accept paypal.
