there is a 48 hr sale right now and I might pick up a new Samsung HDTV, do the BF sales on Amazon sell out fast like amazon gold box deals?

sometimes they had the website freeze up during that Xbox event last time, is this true anyone here bought an HD during BF on amazon.com?

It's impossible to say how hard it is. It depends on the TV, the amount of markdown, how limited it is, etc. They might knock off $100 and leave it up for 3 days, or they might knock off $500 and only sell 1000 units and be sold out in 2 minutes.

Amazon on Black Friday is nuts. Think about this, the year Left 4 Dead came out, it was like $20 on BF and that sold out in like 3-5 mins at 3 AM EST sharp. If you want a TV deal it's possible to get one, you just have to know when the sale is and then get on it at the exact moment it goes live.

Doesn't hurt to be on a super speedy Internet connection, too.

(If you work at the type of place that you can be in the building that late/early. ;) )

BF tv deals are usually pretty good, but my recommendation is looking at your local discount/return shops. I scored my LED, which was a Samsung 46" 120hz for $800 that was a return, it listed for like 1500. The reason for the return on the box was, "wanted 55 inch".

Or amazon warehouse deals. Dad bought a 55" Samsung Series 8000 240hz for 1200. It had been used, but no warranty registered, and hasn't given problems...yet.

yeah I don't plan to shop in store, took over 4 hours last year just to get a netbook at walmart, although I heard stores such as Target, the lines move a bit faster

Anyone shopping on BF should be checking on Wednesday evening, during the day on Thursday, and be parked in front of your PC Friday morning at midnight PST for Amazon.

Two of my last two TVs were BF purchases (Olevia 537H from JR.com, BF2006, still working; Sony KDL-52XBR6 from Amazon w/free Sony BDP-550 BR player, BF2008, replaced by other TV due to warranty issues), so there's certainly can be some good deals if you look around during BF.
