How old can a game be before it stops going on sale?

I bought a PS3 about 3 weeks back and I'm trying to catch up on some of the franchises by playing earlier games.
How often do games like Demon's Souls, Infamous, GoW, etc. go on sale noawadays?

Well just looking at the three games he mentioned one is selling for $18 and the other 2 are $25+ on amazon, I can certainly understand that they might want a better deal than that.

There seems to be a point where some of these older GH games start creeping up in price and don't necessarily go on sale a whole lot. If you're not picky about buying used I think you could probably do pretty well at a gamestop b2g1 or perhaps even better wait for a sale at gohastings.
